I know, should be an ethical imperative to not report a story like this until all the facts are known. My thoughts are with the family of this killed innocent.
Too many unanswered questions in this story, as usual!
Was a donut involved?I just watched the news video attached to the story. It is being reported that while the victim was talking to one of the cops (Standing next to his door), the other cop in the passenger seat drew his gun and shot her? The seems beyond weird.
With the body cameras turned off the facts will never be known.I know, should be an ethical imperative to not report a story like this until all the facts are known.
Journalistic standards require it. Unfortunately the just don't make real journalists anymore. The quality of reporting at the cool girls lunch table in the local high school beats most main stream news these days.I know, should be an ethical imperative to not report a story like this until all the facts are known.
He saw the cell phone and thought it was a gun ? That's popular lately.I just watched the news video attached to the story. Sooner or later, Noor's department will compel, or at least should compel him, to answer questions about the shooting. They certainly can do so legally as part of the internal affairs investigation and they can do it without having him give up his right not to incriminate himself in the criminal investigation. My guess is they are hoping he will talk before then and thus there be less of a chance of any compelled statements in an administrative investigation screwing up the chance to prosecute him if it goes in that direction.
Yes, I am fully aware of that, that is why I wrote they will or should compel him. Of course, they can inform him of a Garrity and he can quit and thus have to say nothing.Actually they have the power to compell him to cooperate. Garrity or something like that...
Are you asking me that? If so: Excuse me but where did I write that? You may be reading too much of what you want to believe I wrote into what I actually wrote. However, while it is likely it will go the way of criminal prosecution there is no absolute guarantee. Stranger things have happened but I doubt that will be the case here. I am confident though, they will go for prosecution. And how exactly do you propose this isn't going to prosecution?
