Who Has an SCR???

This is it in it's final form sans the Primary Arms 1-6 ACSS scope I have to install. Still waiting for the blue locktite to dry.
I used an Aero Precision upper, Ballistic Advantage non threaded barrel, Raptor charging handle and Seekins NOXs handguard I have around $950 in it as I already have the scope.

I have one and its great. I switched out the upper for something better. Its not bad though, getting used to the rifle stock. Granted I've never shot an AR but it looks more comfortable.

Heres mine. I put a 12" keymod handguard on, and I added the extended release tab to the charging handle. I also bought the ARES bolt catch. I put a cheap set of offset sights on and topped it off with a Nikon P223 scope.

Here is my brand new Fight Lite / Ares SCR gen 2.

The only modification I have done to it so far was to replace the Magpul MOE with a Leapers UTG Pro M-LOK Super Slim Float

I should receive some other mods and my optics tomorrow; after work will be some fun time installing all my goodies.

I think the barrel looks fine the way it is. In fact, I'd think it would look a little silly with a shroud on that type of a gun but that's just me.

When the hanguard almost covers the barrel, it actually looks good with no muzzle device.

Just my opinion.

Is my scope too close?

I have the 3x Spitfire. I like to mount my scope like this, hold the rifle up like your normally would and put the Spitfire on the rail. If you have to try and move your head forward or backward to not get the black ring obstructing your view, you should try to move the optic so you get the full picture.

I don’t know what the eye relief is for that optic off hand.

I would say yes. It telescope from 1 length to another. It isn't fixed in length.

No it does not telescope. It is actually a recoil spring; the Remington 1100 Competition Stock comes with three spring types for recoil - heavy, medium and light.

The cheek well you cannot adjust on the fly, you need to take the screws out and put in more plastic washers and a longer screw. I hope that answers your question

I should have .300 Blackout and.458 SOCOM uppers ready shortly for my SCR.

The .300 Blackout was easy enough; just had to find a 16” barrel and new foreguard I liked. The best part would be that it works with the 5.56 BCG and the same mags. The .458 SOCOM I had to purchase a new BCG from Fightlite and a shop in WV was able to change the bolt face to support .458 SOCOM. He also had barrels in stock and had him weld on a fake suppressor since it had threads, used a Leaper M-Lok foreguard and Spirit Arms left sided non reciprocating charger. It also required an adjustable gas block.

I will post up pictures once they all come in.

I'm all set on an SCR, but as far as I can tell, the only place you can get a lower is from fightlite and its $625 by itself. Should I wait for stock to come in of full rifles or does anyone have a suggestion for a New York City Safe act compliant upper that makes sense to go ahead and build my own. Also, I know the receiver has to go through my FFL dealer, but what about upper? Can that be ordered directly? Anyone in NYC that has built their SCR and do you build it, then take it to PD for inspection? Sorry for all the questions, but I don't want to spend a ton and find out I have a non compliant rifle. Thanks, Daso. PS Mods here are amazing. Ohms139, that stock conversion rocks, is it hard to do?

Honestly the best bet is get the SCR lower and build your own upper

You can order literally ever part other than the lower reciever and have it shipped to your door (unless there is something I am missing about NYC but even that I dont think so, unless maybe a specific shop or website just wont shop to the city)

It may seem steep but it really isnt especially because it comes complete, with a BCG and all the lower parts and the stock

Aero precision upper reciever, what ever handguards you want, and then tune barrel

I would suggest you look into if you can have just the lower sent to NYC? As if I recall the reason the mini-14 and the SCR can be shipped to NYC is that the SKU# from the manufacturer has it sent with a 5rd magazine, I may be mistaken? When I got mine the shop had no 5rd'ers so I stopped at another shop and bought 2 5rd'ers on my way home, only to find it came with a 5 rd'er (I wanted these for coyote hunting!) so 1 more would have been all I wanted but then you can't have to many mag's!

FIGHTLITE whonare outrageously helpful are checking but as of right now I can only order an entire rifle and swap upper at a later date. Might buy one off gunbroker

That's weird since the lower is shipped complete with a stock so it should be a "rifle" iirc

They have the monte Carlo stocked version in stock, considering ordering one even though it would be near $650ish all said and done. Not really sure how the FFL transfer works, never did one.

Call the FFLand see if they will take the order, order the gun then contact the dealer again to send their info to fightlite?

Just buy the whole rifle. The only thing you'll need is a new handguard. You won't need a new barrel. The barrel it comes with is fine.

Thanks for all advice, looks like I'll go for a whole rifle off of gunbroker. I take it that all of the SCR's are configured with the same featureless setup, few outside on NYC are sure if there is any difference between and SCR sold in CA vs an SCR sold in NYC?
