Guys i have some bad news. (Speculation)
I don't think the SCR is going to be around much longer...
So I just went over to their website to see if I could get a product or skew number for the non threaded barrel complete SCR for @Daso and well this is what came up under complete SCR rifles.
Not just that, I then went over to the complete lowers and well

Hopefully new one. Since it uses their own BCG, I really don't want to have it need to be replaced in the future and them not being made anymore.
I actually spoke with them and it sounds like delays possibly due to rebranding from Ares to Figthlite. Sounds like they didnt want to build up back orders so they took rifles down temporarily. Based on my conversation with them didn't sound like anything was being discontinued, but that's just my take.
Don't wait, get one from anywhere you can while you have the money.

Reads to me like they are retooling and/or behind in production, not discontinuing it.
Well yea based off of what Dasos conversation with the company, but if I was just some random person who went to the website to look for their stuff I would see that and think oh they are no longer making the SCr
I totally agree, reason I called them was because I thought they were discontinued. If they are planning on putting it back up they should say stock available soon or something of that sort. Otherwise anyone would think they discontinued. unfortunately, u NYC residents now only have one choice for an AR style setup and the SCR is it, no other versions with thorsen stock or featureless are accepted by NYPD.

^^^agree with you both- the wording on the website is poor.
@Daso if you have read through the treads on here about the SCR's You should have seen my posts about picking up one that was used but un-fired for $599.00. Well I see there is one on Gunbroker with a Stag upper with a buy now of $739.00 this seems to be a pretty good deal?

Hi Nortatoga, I must have missed your post on that awesome $599 deal. I saw the one you mentioned (thanks) but wasn’t sure on it’s condition. I did see a complete and new Fightlite SCR-2 (I guess newer trigger) for $800 which I was going to do but need to confirm whether barrel is threaded and haven’t heard back from seller. On the other hand, I have heard good recommendations of the Stag upper. I’d have to make sure the upper was NYC compliant as well , what a hassle. Thanks.
Mine was a gen-1 and ARES did a trigger upgrade for free.
I purchased the full rifle from a shop on Long Island. If you buy a lower and build one yourself I am 99% sure you do not need to bring it in for inspection; I have never heard of this but I could be wrong.
The only grey area with you buying an SCR lower and the issues you would face is:
1. You cannot purchase AR-15 lowers or construct your own AR-15 in the confines of the five boroughs of NYC even though NYS law allows it.
2. SCR is an AR-15 variant/bastard classification so it may fall under the same law/act/nonsense.
Adhering to NYC law falls in line with the "un"SAFE act of NYS with the inclusion of a limited 5 round magazine due to NYC restrictions.
Thanks for the kind words and no the conversion was not difficult at all. The only issue I ran into was finding a long thin-walled socket that could fit down the factory stock to loosen the bolt (mine did not have the slot so I could't use a flat head). The Remington 1100 competition stock did require a little file work to bore the hole approximately 2mm so the recoil tube could fit.
I have since changed my stock and purchased a Boyd's American Plainsman Remington 1100 stock in forest camo pattern.
Save yourself the money and buy a stock from Boyd's. You may have to do slight alternations to make it fit exactly. In the end you will have a much nicer stock at less than half of the price.

Mine is the sporter stock model (yes I would have preferred the Monte Carlo stock) But a $30.00 Blackhawk cheek rest works just fine (actually pretty comfortable)
How is that 1-6 twist barrel treating you?
So far so good, I have not put to many round though it yet, And want to try some different weight bullets. Planning on shooting it in our next AR Challenge match now that I have it set up with a red dot and co-witness irons. I do need to get into reloading!!
The one NYS legality I'm actually curious about is if a Sporter or Monte Carlo style stock with a thumb hole is ok.

Congrats! If you need I also just ordered a pair of these off Amazon for around $25.00
I put one on my Ruger PC9 and I may put the other one on sporter SCR in place of the Blackhawk that is on it.
