Worthless New York State Ammo Regulations

I never filled anything out at sportsmens warehouse, they charged me the fee anyway. I saw them recording the lot number on the boxes of ammo i was about to buy in their computor. When i saw them gathering the lot number, i questioned why, they told me it was for the ammo background check. I instantly told them to shove that ammo right straight up their asses. I paid for my other stuff and left. I then noticed the charge on the receipt after i got home. I still haven`t been able to get my money back yet. My next step is to have my lawyer send SW corporate a letter of notification of a incoming lawsuit against them. I know that the ammo BGC fee is small, but that`s NOT the point of it.

If you did fill out a Form, wonder what they did with it? return it to you? They didn't return it, I offered tongue and check to rip it up, but the bass pro employee said oh no!

Sad part is not only did you not get your ammunition, but now your personal information is in hands with limited control and no accountability, and if they actually entered the information, then now the State and Tyler Industries has all your information including that you use ,223 Ammunition in some sort of gun...Did they collect the processing fee from you?

Are you going to have your lawyer send a letter to the NY tyrants notifying them of an incoming lawsuit, I bet not. I can agree with all of that but I'm just a crusty old man who, if I don't agree with someone especially a politician, I go right to the source and let them know. After 70+ years it is your right to not want to give a "phuck" anymore, but your original post said you were pissed at a store for following the law. They don't make the laws politicians do. By the way, there is no official form for ammo, each ffl can make their own form or they can just "interrogate" you while doing the background check. Unlike numerous special interest groups that rally constantly, we the gun owners are our own worst enemy. Unlike you, I have kids and grandkids who like to hunt and shoot and as long as I'm alive I will try my best to do whatever I can to make their future better no matter how futile my efforts.

I've always wondered: do federal laws apply? Or can you just straight have a belt fed machine gun on the Rez?

Legally reservations are similar to states.

They have to follow the federal laws, but they get to make their own state level one.

So, NYS law and federal law should apply on the reservation as much as it does in PA.

In practice that gets a bit blurry, they aren't quite as independent from the states they are in as they should be.

He was still there at 4:15 when I came back to get something I forgot earlier. I told him Vermont and NH are only an hour away. He could have drove there and back 3 times. I’m not sure he ever got his ammo. Absolute ridiculousness

The most ridiculous thing is that he was dumb enough to sit there all day waiting. WTH would anyone do that, especially when ammo is only an hour away?

Friday the 27th of September, I stopped by the Bass Pro Shop in Auburn NY and begrudgingly filled out ammo purchase form for a box of Barnes .223 copper bullets for the upcoming deer season. After filling out the BS form, I was then told by Bass pro employee that my request was on hold, and I would have to wait a one hour to one day, to which I replied BS forget it, I have people to see and things to do. Our State at Its Best!

They did that to my buddy, 2 trips up to glens falls. They just are timing out permits and applications . Supposed to work for the taxpayers,, what few of us are left.
