I agree with the OP's opening statement "Mass killings cannot be stopped" and that is a major reason why people need firearms to protect themselves and others! We (USA) have been kinda lucky as the mass shootings we've had here are mostly from poorly trained 'lone wolf' types. What would happen if a few of these despicable bastards got together and managed to get into a concert or football game? But here I am preaching to the choir and the OP is probably long gone and would never understand anyway. Oh well

Couple of things. They aren't training to be peace officers, so thats irrelevant.

People fundamentally misunderstand the "when guns are banned only criminals will have guns" notion.

They think it's about disarming the good gun owners.

Properly understood the statement reads "if you outlaw guns, I will become an outlaw".
