Oh I should add, this guy? Big fan of Hawaiian print shirts and flip flops offduty. You'd see him in the freaking PX like that. I half expected to see him bust into a keg stand at any given moment dressed like that.

I'll give you the story, quick like, and you tell me. Was slated to deploy with my unit back in 03 but I got what eventually turned out to be cancer so I didn't go. Now this whole process occurred over a month during which Pug Fuck repeatedly accused me of faking an illness to get out of the deployment. Forced me out for the field training, while I had what turned out to be fucking cancer and even blocked me from going on sick calla couple of times! Said he was going to have me court martialed. Until we got the diagnosis then he was all sticking his nose up my ass. Anyway that all gets sorted out, I'm cured, I'm fine. I'm put in the unit mail room in the stay back battalion all fine, for me. Meanwhile in Iraq, you need to know that we were an artillery unit, MLRS or rocket artillery, but the unit served pretty much as infantry over there. Meaning they had second rate hand down equipment not on par with proper infantry gear. Worn out M16A2s with no optics, old second gen night vision gear, unarmored humvees. This last item is the salient point here, there were standing orders from Division HQ, thats 1st Cav, that no unit was to go on motor patrol until they had received and installed their humvee up armor kits. And then cut an order requesting volenteers for motor patrols. Nice huh? Capt Pugass volunteered the battery for one of these patrols despite not having any armored humvees and sure enough pretty early on a convoy hits an IED and gets ambushed. Couple of wounded, and two dead, Brad and James. Brad was 17 when he deployed, turned 18 two weeks in country, his parents had to sign a waiver. Before they deployed a couple of guys, even a few of the Sargents were looking for me to raise a stink over my cancer thing, maybe get Pugsley busted. We all knew what a DB he was, some were worried ahead of time what he might pull over there. But at the time I didn't want any part of it, I was preoccupied with doctors and scans and starting chemo. But in retrospect I should have spoken up. Maybe there was a small chance things would've worked out different, probably not but maybe.

Thankfully you're safe and healthy that's the important part of that whole life experience with that Pug dude. But , yes, me.. I would've been right above him at his CO with all kinds of defamation of character and "he's a douchebag statements" but that's me, no care for who or what's a chain of command..if it needs to come off my chest, it does..

Craziest time of my life, that's for sure. Even crazier when you consider I broke my neck and back in a massive street racing cockup like 6 months after my cancer! That's right. It's why I'm not an atheist anymore. Neck and back are all good, made a complete recovery.

This has actually sent me looking for replacements. I've don't a bunch of reading that says any 18650 that claims over 3500mAh is Chinese junk and will have a short life and unreliable power output. I'm thinking that's my issue. I will buy a couple name brand 3500mAh to try and charge them with my rc battery charger,.
