While much of this essay was about guns, them taking the guns is one small thing to worry about with these people. The guns are important, but not the biggest concern. IMHO

When guns are banned what are you going to do with a 3d printed gun that is illegal to use anywhere or get caught with? You can have 50 of them and they're just going to collect dust in your basement you won't even know if they work or not. You can hide all the homemade guns you may or may not have but hiding them stashed away somewhere doesn't do anything for anyone other than give their person a Sense of misguided confidence and liberty.

Whats the point of having a gun now? As a civilian I'll likely never use it for defensive purposes.
My point is that taking away our guns now would be about as productive as a book burning in 2021. Yeah they'll burn shit but the information already exists digitally therefore the designs can be printed and reprinted over and over again. The 2nd ammendment has been forever etched into the stones of human rights because of technology. In 10 years i have no doubt we will be able to extrude top quality components out of virtually any material. It'll be cheap and it'll be easy.

How are you going to test fire them?

What would be your plan if you ever had to use guns you don't have in self defense knowing it's an automatic felony for defending yourself?
This is what the left wants. They don't care if we have guns or not. They know it's completely unrealistic to get all the guns from us there are already more guns than people in this country including a crap ton of functional 80% that they probably don't know about.
I also predict the left will continue pushing to make ammo harder and harder to get.
What the left is going to do is prevent us from using them. Prevent us from teaching the next generation. They will have gun rights slowly wither away and die off without a shot being fired in anger. There are many people here (some in this thread) who are content to just let that happen so long as they have hidden guns in their house even though they won't ever do anything with them. Somehow having those guns with no intention of using them gives people a Sense of superiority when in essence the gun is useless if the owner won't use it for fear of the consequences of doing so.
The left is trying to stigmatize gun ownership and usage through threats, coercion and intimidation. What good is an ar-15 hidden in a false wall if you won't use it? What good is a burried sks if you won't use it? What good is a ghost gun to spend it's life hidden in your basement just so you can tell yourself your a non compliant. For what purpose? If that's the end game might as well just turn them in an rid yourself of the burden.

So whatever rules/laws the Biden admin passes on gun control can and will be overturned when the next republican gets in. Clinton did the AW ban and when Bush got in he overturned it.

I think NY and CA have pushed gun control into "barely legal" territory and the Democrats in these states KNOW they can't really push it much further. CA is already losing in court over the magazine limits. The best NY can come up with is this "ghost gun" legislation and body armor possession acts. Which arguably could outlaw the renaissance festival depending on how realistic they armor they use is during the jousting competitions.
