Didn't watch the video but I used Serpas for years on a daily basis. No problems. Have seen two officers on two separate occasions at a range, drawing from standard leather thumb break holsters, firing a round into the ground.

It reminds me of all the BS about gun violence. People are blaming the holster, not the user. It's not about the gun, it's the user . . .

I agree and disagree with your assessment. Yes the people shouldn't have pulled the trigger but I think the Serpa's are a fundamentally flawed design and should have stopped production a long time ago. In the heat of the moment needing to use your trigger finger to depress a release button during drawing is stupid right from the get go. That why a lot of agencies/people that require high retention have moved back to a thumb break, mind you a modern twist. The two big ones that stand out to me are the Safriland and the G-code ones.

I knew this post would come up frequently. While i agree with everyone saying its user error, they are correct, It is the user not the holster. The problem en-lies that why would you want to have your trigger finger depressing a button that is directly in line with your trigger? To me it just seems like you are setting yourself up for failure. When you come under duress you start loosing fine motor skills (digits dont want to work) due to endorphin dumps and blood rushing away from your extremities into your core to protect itself. So why put yourself in a possible bad situation? @Jem45472 why are looking for a holster with a level 2 retention?

I have been using those holsters for many, many years; zero issues. These people need to stop blaming their misfortunes on the equipment they use and start taking full responsibility for their horrible mistakes and their actions.

I like how, for a few dollars more, Safariland came out w/ those GLS Pro-Fit holsters that are almost the same idea, yet they moved their release away from that spot, to a way more comfortable place you can use without your trigger finger.

Got one for the P30 and love it. Reach down, release w/ middle finger as you grab the gun, and I was nowhere near touching the trigger. Worth the money, but it wasn't even that expensive.

Its holsters for those who dont take self protection or carrying seriously, it's just an after thought. Oh I have a license to carry oh I bought a gun oh I'm good to go

I am not familiar with HTC so I cannot recommend. I do not own one, never seen one, never used one etc.
I will not give out any recommendations to people unless I have used or owned a product.
Nothing personal, I know you guys are spot on, like us. Just a rule I follow.

I have some very high quality holsters as well. I do not need someone to say not to be cheap. I have used these holsters for a very long time, I have trained pretty hard with them and not once, never, have I shot myself.

I bet if we were to search hard enough, there would be negative to say about any product.

Here is the difference, no one has to search hard to find negatives about serpa. But I bet we have to search extremely hard to find anything that serpa does "better" than actual good holsters that is its "competition"

If you have "other very high quality holsters" why do you choose to run a holster of lower quality?
I think perhaps because you have used these serpas for a "very long time" means you are set in your ways? I know a guy who swore by his .22lr Single Action revolver carried buried in his front jeans pocket. All good man. you do you. I hope you never ever experience the catastrophes that so many others have with that serpa.

Because I see little issue with them. I train on all different types of holster platforms. 1000's and 1000's have been bought and are still used today by many. If they were so bad, kind of like the boogie man, everyone that uses them would be blowing holes in their legs and feet.
