For f's sakes people, DON'T use generic titles that could be anything at all. This is both in the site rules.. and is just common damn sense, and yet every single day we have to address it; quite often multiple times a day.

Correct. Not enough information. Regardless. Unless they found a written statement or a post saying that he was going to commit a shooting with those guns in the morning, the night raid was unnecessary.
Not only does it unnecessarily put the lives of the dwellers in danger, it also puts the lives of the police in danger.
Having an unmarked car waiting outside with up to 3 officers to apprehend him is much safer once he pulls out whether on foot or in a car coming out from a garage compared to an all out assault on a hardened structure.
But if you do that and apprehend on your terms safely outside the home, then it wouldn’t make much sense to have a SWAT team. They have to find a use for them somehow. You can’t have them constantly training itching for action. Not good for morale.

SWAT raids shouldn't be filmed at all. It's a good way to reveal tactics and methods to those who would exploit it.
You make a decent point but nowadays I don’t even like speaking to complainants who walk i to the precinct for advice without filming it. I’m not comfortable engaging in any police work without my camera rolling.
You don't get to decide when you're raided by SWAT. They will come when they think they have the biggest advantage.
You don't know the intel or planning that went into the raid.
I didn't know you had to much knowledge and expertise in apprehending dangerous people. Maybe the police should hire you as a consultant and check in with you before they execute a plan.
That's a completely different situation. SWAT isn't having a conversation with anyone. After apprehension the cameras can come on.

Rather than making this personal which I’m betting you are doing due to other unrelated threads, let’s look at some facts on hand and not use emotion to try to get me. Let’s talk like mature adults here.
1. It isn’t for the comfort of the one being raided. I do not know how you can even say that. It’s for the safety of all. Assaulting a hardened structure is more dangerous and more can go wrong rather than apprehending outside a hardened structure. That’s common sense and a hard fact.
Think about it. If you were trying to get me, what would give you a greater success with the least risk to the innocent occupants in the home and to you and your crew? Assaulting me in my home on my own turf where I can use my own home against you with possible rifle fire back at you or getting me as I leave work on my way to my car or on my way to my car to go to work or in my car while boxed in where at most I would have a pistol?
I agree with everything you said except for the end. They’d still need them and I guarantee you that most of the team members would be perfectly happy training 365 without having to put themselves in harms way. They’re used because too many departments over use these types of entries because doctrine is that they are safer for the uninvolved. I disagree, but that’s the idea.

No knock raids should be banned. There is no excuse for a no knock raid. They're completely unnecessary.
Isn't it odd, most times we hear of a problem with any warrant, it is with a no knock raid.

most likely not. The libs always put protections in for those who call things in even if the report turns out to be false.
Let's let SWAT decide how they are going to handle it. They are the professionals. Not you. How do you know he wasn't under surveillance? They don't flip a coin to determine the time for the raid. Everything is planned. There isn't going to be a task force sitting around for days and days waiting for him to leave his house. These people never see it coming. If they are captured in the driveway who's to say occupants inside aren't going to start destroying evidence? They need to enter the structure anyway. The warrant is and will continue to be executed when they see fit.

One person with a military background says that assaulting hardened structures introduces dangers. Another with military and a law enforcement background says the same. Logic also says the same. You be the judge.
That’s definitely not true. But they are overused.

Most people when approached by police on the street don’t go out in a blaze of glory. They just don’t. It happens every day. Even with hardened criminals. But chances are that if their door is kicked in, they will or might or they will not obey out of confusion.
Take me for instance. Law abiding for the most part. If approached at work, I will comply. If approached on my driveway, I will comply. If approached at the gas station, I will comply. If my door is kicked in while I’m sleeping, my gun will be in my hand.

No-knock warrants/ raids are a big problem in this country. Most of the time it seems they are not needed and people end up getting hurt. Or they go to the wrong house, or they throw a Flash Bang in a baby's crib.
I'll be looking forward to hearing more about this story, especially since they say it's something firearm-related.

If you were right there wouldn't be 50,000 SWAT raids in America every year. Sorry. You don't know more than every law enforcement agency in America, even though you may think so. You also ignored my point about having to enter anyway. If I take you down in your driveway, your home boys are going to be sure to know. So what happens when they destroy your meth lab before I can gain entry? Now I've lost my evidence. Also now that they all know we are there they can be prepared to launch an assault when we gain entry, instead of never knowing we are coming. They would even have plenty of time to make some phone calls and get the rest of the gang there to help them. Your argument fails, and bad guys will continue to get "wake up calls" at all hours of the night. Stay in your lane - this one clearly isn't for you.
