From another article it sounds like Applegate's requirement from NY was to have 1 hot food option available which it complied with.
I would hope Applegate would sue NY because NY is not liking the deal they (NY) made with Applegate. It sounds NY is now trying to change the law because it...
Wouldn’t this just give Applegreen and Chick Fil-A grounds to sue them? They have a contract in place and NY is changing its laws because it didn’t like the contract it made.
of course the lawmakers don’t give a shit because if they lose in court, they don’t have to pay, we do.

Some people we talk to seem not to comprehend how taxes work on houses and that you will be paying them for the rest of your life. I have heard so many times from my family and people in the area that the housing in the Rochester area is cheaper than where we lived in SC. And it is true - the...
Ruger PC Carbine is not a bad choice for a first rifle at all.
For mounting a light, you can use the mount on the gun but some lights interfere a little. You can get Mlok mounts that will move the light to the side of the rifle. I have the Catalyst Arms Hardpoint for the front and then I...
Pistol concealed for out and about. Long gun for home defense. Pellet gun with a suppressor for taking small game. 22lr bolt action for taking larger game still relatively quietly.
Last thing I want to do is bring attention to myself. A pellet gun with an airgun suppressor is quiet, can take...
My problem with a live-fire accuracy requirement is that by law you are not allowed to touch a handgun prior to the class. They are requiring people to demonstrate proficiency with something the first time they are using it.
Probably because those are all the counties in the 8th judicial district. I am sure they are picking a district that will be favorable to their case to start.
It reclassifies them as “firearms” under NY Penal law. Under NY law, “shotguns” and “rifles” are not “firearms”.
“Firearms” under NY law 265.00 include pistols, revolvers, SBRs, SBSs and now anything that can expel a projectile via explosive otherwise not defined. Under NY Penal law, all...
The “other” they were most likely targeting is AR others. If you build an AR without a stock, over 26” length with a vertical fore grip then it is an “other”. It is not a “rifle” because it has no stock and isn’t designed to be fired from the shoulder. It’s not a “shotgun” and it’s not a...
By adding “others” to the definition of “firearm” they are banning them. Because all “firearms” are illegal. Handguns and revolvers can be explicitly obtained thru a pistol permit but there is no provision for the rest of the items under “firearms”. “Rifles” and “shotguns” are separately defined...
I believe the difference is that they are defining it as the NY penal law definition of “firearm”. In NY penal law, rifles and shotguns are not “firearms”. “Firearms” in NY Penal law include handguns, revolvers, SBRs, SBSs all of which are illegal to possess. A pistol permit allows possession of...
So buying level 3 and 4 hard rifle plates is legal - but it will now be illegal to buy a soft level 3A panel for your child's backpack. Way to go NY, always using critical thinking to make our kids safer.
Whatever you choose, take it to the range and pattern it. In my mind, I'd first want to check what I have and see if how it performs before I go down a rabbit hole of different combinations. What works in someone else's gun may perform differently in yours.
Does anyone have a recommendation for a local gun store or FFL east of Rochester that you have used?
I have a couple items I am looking to purchase and then a couple of items I'll be looking to sell and will need to do some transfers.
Thanks!
well, I re-converted the 1377 back to a rifle to try out the 25 yard offhand, went to sight it in and I blew a seal. I'll have to swing by the hardware store for some O-rings.
No expert here but I have a belt that I set up and used for a few Run and Guns (3-5 mile race carrying rifle, pistol, ammo etc with 5-6 shooting stages out). When I set it up I went the el cheapo route for my first race.
inner and outer belt is what you want and as @togmaster said you can swap...
Beeman P17 for 10 yard target shooting. Single shot, trigger is long but smooth and light. A bit hard to cock. Accurate.
crosman 1377 multi pump for target shooting and squirrels under 15 yards. You can mod the heck out of them if you have fun doing that.
crosman vigilante - not as accurate...
I’ve since converted it back to the short barrel. What’s dangerous is that you can order parts direct from Crosman as long as you know the exact part numbers and it’s way cheaper than buying from a reseller.
I only asked because I recently moved back to NY so I am wading thru the pistol permit process but I have air pistols that I enjoy target shooting with. No feelings hurt here if the challenges stick to powder-burners only.
-Hardly any combinations so a kid or person who watches a quick youtube vid will be able to crack it.
-If it’s in your house or car it doesn’t look like it has a cable integrated into it so it doesn’t prevent theft and will be easily defeated later.
It seems like it would be an ok device to...
Hey everyone!
New to the forum, recently returned to NY for family reasons, was active on previous forum down south.
Grew up in NY, left down south for work and now held my nose and came back for family.
I’ve dabbled in IDPA, USPSA, and Run n Guns. Recently I’m into bolt action 22 and air guns.
