That was always the plan. I got the 340 PD for practical purposes now I want a bigger un for fun.
Though I honestly did have fun shooting the little J frame.
You can get a new 586 yes, or at least they list it on the website, but only in a 6 shot. I would like to see a 7 shot 586. The L Comp basically is just that but is a Performance Center model with a Performance Center price.
I would also like to see Safariland get with the times and offer 7...
Smith & Wesson list the 586 on their website, with an SKU so it is still in production I'd have thought.
The L-Comp is in low rate production and it is a 586 derivative, my main reason for wanting one.
I'll take a blued revolver over a stainless any day.
Revolvers I'd like to see from S&W:
1- The updated return of the 386 the 386 PD. Scandium frame, titanium 7 shot cylinder and a 2.5 or 3" barrel with a proper rear sight, tritium front and rear. Fancy titanium barrel shroud would be a plus. Basically a more practical version of the...
The Manurhin MR 73 is supposed to be the final word in strength and durability for revolvers. Berretta is importing new manufacture MR 73s too............. If you have the near 4k they are asking for one.
I am also interested in the Spohr revolvers manufacturered in Germany based on the S&W...
This is all entirely true. While Ruger's casting process is among the best in the industry I do prefer the sleek and refined S&Ws more.
Then again Ruger's QC is better these days.
I didn't say Rugers were hookers,I said you treat a Ruger like a hooker, there is a difference. I meant it as a compliment actually, Rugers are solid, unpretentious firearms.
Hey Hochul, I hate you. I hate all leftists. I want to see all leftists rounded up and executed. Please send your bundles of sticks 3' in length, 2' in diameter goons over to me. I will be happy to entertain them.
Ruger has always been a company that focuses on making durable but cheap guns. You don't buy a Ruger to ogle and marvel at, you don't sit in front of the TV while fondling a Ruger. You buy a Ruger to shoot and abuse and put away wet and dirty and not thunk about it until you need it again...
That's kinda what happened to me when I casually checked out some small frame revolvers at the LGS for possible pocket carry. I handled a few, liked the 640/38 and ended up with the exotic 340PD. Now I'm going round and round over what kind of full size .357 I want to get while constantly...
Biggest problem with the SP101 I see is that it really is too bulky and heavy for a mere 5 shots, a 6 shot version would be much more compelling. Now that I think upon it the Colt King Cobra is SP 101 sized and holds 6 shots, that is the small frame .357 to get I think...
Smith & Wessons are more refined and prettier, Rugers are tank built working guns. Both are good............ except S&W's quality control on new revolvers has gone to shit. I still like S&Ws though.
If the OP is after a hard hitting yet convient to carry gun perhaps the S&W 327 "pugnose" is...
Belatedl realization that on the eve of Armageddon it's probably a bad idea to rely on rainbow fucks for defense.
The best place for the rainbow "people" for military purposes is on the range for live fire target testing.
How many mayors total in this nation? Hundreds of thousands I'd wager and these douchebags account for under 70. A teensy tiny percentage.
Sit down and shut the fuck up anti-gun scum.
610 is a 10mm right? Isn't that the model Jerry Miculek used to score that revolver speed record?
Had to look up the Bloodwork reference. Now I'm trying to find a clip with that revolver in it.
I think you will find the that holster to be satisfactory, I have worn mine near every day for the last two years and it has served me well.
I do have a modification for you, I will make a more detailed how-to in the morning when I get home.
*edit*
The holster will be very tight when new but...
What the difference does it make?! SS benefits amount to a token pittance in the face of today's cost of living. I'm 45 and I know I will have to work until I die.
Well the next revolver will be an L frame or equivalent in .357 mag.
I really should be getting on with scoping and re-stocking my 10/22 Target Lite however.
So on the basis that I couldn't discern much if any difference in the the feel of the +p Golden Sabres as compared to the 148gr wadcutters and that I found the .357s unpleasant yet tolerable from the 340PD, I wouldn't have any issues shooting .44 mags from beefy revolver like a 629.
I shot 20...
How would the recoil of a .44 Magnum from a Model 629 or equivalent large frame revolver compare to the 340PD w/ .357s? I am feeling emboldened now.
What about a .500 S&W?
Yes, I don't think think I'd care to shoot it with the factory grips. As you can see the Crimson Trace grips offer a generous cushion over the backstrap. I could see bare metal as being painful, with these grips .357 recoil is manageable though still unpleasant. .38 Specials however are no...
Targets shot @10 yards with a mix of the 148gr wadcutters and the +p Golden Sabers. I detected minimal difference in felt recoil and said recoil was entirely fine . In fact I enjoyed shooting the little demon quite a bit
Recoil in .357 was very stout, unpleasant even but not to the point of...
You people are pansies, I shot all 50 goddamn rounds of that .357 out of the little bastard. Cleaning up at the range now, pictures to follow when I get home.
In fact I am now strongly considering carrying .357s
So which do we prefer on an L frame (or any medium size revolver)? 4" barrel or the 3"? I used to think the 4" looked best but now I am coming around to the 3". 6" looks ungainly to me, maybe on a .44 mag where the power is more befitting of the bulk.
I am going to try a grip demonstrated by Jerry Miculek on one of his videos. For lightweight, small frame magnum revolvers he favors a grip in which the thumb of his supporting hand wraps over top his firing hand to aid with recoil mitigation. I'll give that a go and see.
I am questioning the L-Comp now. I heard that being cut for moon clips the L-comp ma suffer accuracy issues and potentially light strike issues when NOT using moon clips due to the cartridge rims being only partially supported. I have little interest in using moon clips so maybe I should just...
I plan on taking the little Smith to the range tomorrow. I have done an absolute ton of dry fire practice all week, hundreds of trigger pulls, I have gotten to the point where I can very quickly and reliably stage the trigger just before the break and I can also pull straight through all at...
Confusion nothing, fuck that! I do not buy that cock and bull story that SA didn’t know what their lobbyist, that they paid and told what to do, was up to. Only a fool would believe that and Springfields continued assertions that they had no idea what the organization they jointly setup was...
Seems like a very good size for a general purpose carry gun. Too bad it's sold by Springfield Armory. Fuck Springfield Armory.
Consider any of the myriad larger forms of the P365 or a Performance Center Shield with the 4" barrel.
