Finally found a good condition M1 Carbine, at a reasonable price. Came with 2 mags to boot.
Picked it up yesterday, hoping to hit the range with it tomorrow, rounds were reasonably priced for the times btw whats normal prices for a box of .30 50 rd box I paid 35.
Thats what I was trying to get at with him, but I wasn't going to argue with someone to shell out 1200 bucks plus smithing fees. I was just curious if that lug was the only thing stopping him from selling it... as it could be easily removed from what I can see... oh well not like he had the...
I know its the wrong section but figured I'd ask here anyway... ive been looking for a 30 Carbine, for ever... i walk into my LGS and low and behold there's an authentic 30 Car on the rack... price was right too... I inquire, and he said law enforcement only... I asked why? He said because it...
Thanks everyone for the great advice and tips... I really appreciate it. Hopefully he will have the same love of shooting and the outdoors as me. And this is something we can do together for many years to come...
I know I'm probably way ahead of myself here, but with my first child on its way, I was wondering when it would be a good time to begin teaching him about shooting, defense and safety.
My wife isn't opposed to him learning early, as we keep several guns in the house for defense, as well as a...
Sorry if this post is redundant and is somewhere else. Just curious what everyone's thoughts are on when ammo will be readily available again... or at least at levels in which retailers can't price gouge us to death... only asking because a friend of a friend of mine is considering "gifting" me...
Wouldn't sweeping gun reform need to pass both the house and senate? Please be yes...lol... I can't bear to think about having to bury my guns in the yard or buy a boat so they can be lost in an unfortunate boating accident.
I could be wrong, but I thought Governors outline there legislative agenda, and propose these to the legislators via state proposals (executive). In a sense trying to create laws that fit their agenda. Similar to a President offering bills to the house and senate. Of course it would need to pass...
Been debating with my brother recently about NY Gun Laws in general. He is a Democrat, and quite liberal. But is a gun owner himself. He recently bought an AR during lock down... be it a neutered fixed mag version, thats completely impractical for defense, took a gun smith 10 minutes to un-jam a...
Went to a small lgs in my town, basically its a 10×10 room. Hes been unable to stock anything in quantity to keep up with demand... I foolishly thinking my 2k rounds for each rifle was plenty before the spike... A few trips to the range and club and here I am down to a few hundred of each...
One of my favorites. I love take downs or compacting guns for bug out purposes. However I learned it doesn't like the blue box Federal ammo... cci mini mags run great though it.
I figured as much. Thanks for clarifying. New York makes gun ownership such a drag lol... folding stock i get. But a bayonet lug lmao. Thats the one part thats super ridiculous.
Been awhile since my last post, been super busy with my first baby on the way and opening a business during covid... Been a crazy few months...
Any who, was watching YouTube I believe it was Iraqiveteran888. He was Featuring a M1 Carbine Paratrooper remake by Auto Ordinance. I've always wanted...
He doesn't have a NY issued ID. Hence me asking But as advised on this thread we had no issues this morning, we to a LGS in upstate NY today and both purchased new guns. I got a DB AR10 and he bought a SW M&P. He used his valid US passport and vehicle registration he also had supplemental proofs...
Hey everyone, my brother has the gun bug and wants to purchase a fire arm this week. Problem is he doesn't have a license. He has a valid US passport and Valid US passport card, and proof of residence in NY. Will he be able to purchase a gun a rilfe or shotgun using a passport and proof of...
He had a little stack of 3x5 cards that explained what the Shockwave was and why its ny compliant... said LEGAL IN NY in bold across the top with about 2 or 3 sentences. Perhaps he made them, or his distributor made them, they didnt look official but they did look professional in quality... i...
Did you see these 2 models for sale in NY somewhere? I saw an lgs selling high points and I've always wanted one. But know they are not safe act compliant, so I asked if those were LE only and he said no, they are perfectly legal in his eyes, that a magwell and a pistol grip are 2 different...
I bought this gun right before the gunpocolype, in late March shoots good. Its a 2nd generation i believe. Any way I'm looking for one of those almost straight front grips or angle grip, only problem is each on i buy doesn't fit because its not a pic rail on the bottom anyone know of that type...
Hey thanks for the reply, would you happen to know their contact information my Google search results are turning up to many different options.. if not maybe the town they are located in to narrow down my results
Hey Everyone, I hope my message finds everyone safe and healthy in these trying times... Im looking to buy an AR 10 or mini 14 300blkout. Was thinking of driving way upstate to go gun shopping, but run the risk of driving for 3 to 5 hours only to return home with nothing... So I figured it might...
Oh ok, the website said something of needing to be sponsored by a member in good standing with the club for 2 years... that would be ideal as I'm a rock rocklander and PR is only 15 minutes away... I'll fill out the online request form and see what happens.
Thanks for the information
Here is the RD RAK I picked up this week, hoping to get it out to the range this week coronavirus permitted lol. BTW any one familiar with these rifles? My first AK type and not 100% sure on add ons and upgrades which I would like to do one day.
Sorry I thought you meant Rise, unfortunately I dont know any members and it seems that you must know someone to be considered. Which I fully understand. But makes it kinda hard when you don't come from a Gun friendly social group, I'm literally the only one in my family and my wife's family...
This is where I've been going, I enjoy the people there, and give them most of my range business. However their membership prices are very high and you still need to pay per range visit. Which can add up to quite alot of money even shooting every 2 weeks... I'm looking into mcsc right now and...
Over the past few months, I've really ramped up my gun collection and a passion for shooting sports... My question is does anyone know of any gun clubs that are accepting new members and isn't more than an hour away from Rockland county?
I've easily spent 300 to 500 bucks just going to my...
Its actually really fun to shoot... I've been running it at the range, had a few bad cycle issues that I chalk up to a bad box of 55 gr rounds I got at a gun show... loaded up 62 gr rounds and the gun performed like a gem... I'm not thrilled with the mags so I ordered some 10/30s (perm) but...
Good to know, I had issues using lower grain rounds went with a higher grain this time n had no issues. Fired out 50 rounds cleanly and for iron sights was completely ok with my accuracy
If that's not a problem that would be great, I'm researching parts you mentioned now. Just to get them while I have some extra cash laying around... Really appreciate the assistance. Thank again
Not to be a pain in the, but I'm still a relatively new gun owner. Would you mind telling me what parts I should get my hands on? Thank you for the advice.
Great to know about the warranty! Love a company that stands behind the product... it does feel cheapish but a foldable 5.56 with a built in bipod cant go wrong for the price... thanks for the info much appreciated!
It does have a cheap plastic feel, though the guy who sold it to me said it could be coated to make it more rugged. Dont know if he was blowing smoke up my a** or not, maybe something to look into
That's was a the main motivation for me, light and compact, sure for 100 more I could have went with a bare bones AR but mobility and weight were the selling points for me... thanks for the feedback!
Being the prepper/survivalist I am, I tend to lean towards guns that are light and that preferably fold or disassemble easily. I recently bought the Kel Tec SU 16b, I think for the price and functionality for me it's a great gun. Shoots great, cycled 2 ammunition brands perfectly. But I wanted...
Not at all, in this instance the guns were not legally possessed. And each time some idiot with a gun commits a crime, kills someone. Those who wish to see our 2nd Amendment completely stripped away have ammunition to go to Albany and Washington to put more restrictions on our rights. In this...
