I am sorry if someone feels my question is a big waste of time. I am a newbie and learning.
In fact, I have been wanting a rifle for a long time, but commuting between the city and home daily didn't let me have enough time to think of getting a rifle. Now in this horrible time, I really feel...
Thanks for quick reply! I see. So, I guess the only possibility is to build one myself because I can order the lower without concerning if it is NY compliant.
I am thinking of buying a regular AR15, a magazine lock, and a 10 round magazine to make the AR15 NY compliant one. But the online seller told me that they couldn't ship non-NY compliant AR15 to my local dealer. So, what should I do? Isn't it the owner's responsibility to make the AR15 NY...
I checked Amazon and got confused about the red dot and scope. Some of the red dots look like short versions of scopes. In reality, under what kind of situation, you need a scope or a red dot. It seems to me that scope is for long-distance shooting.
I also think to add an angled foregrip like this. But not sure if it is legal to do it.
For the sight, I am not sure which iron sight I should buy. I would prefer to use both red dot and iron sight. For the red dot, this is the one I plan to get.
I am thinking of building a 9 mm AR. Here are the parts I may buy. Your opinions and advice are very much appreciated. Here are the parts from GlockStore.com.
Upper. I will buy 16" to meet the legal requirement.
Lower. I am not sure if the pistol grip with the fin is NY compliant as well. It...
This model is NY compliant. I understand it now. A NY compliant rifle is the same for AR-15 and for other semi-automatic rifles as well. So-called featureless with an interchangeable magazine. At first, I thought that a PC carbine is not an assault weapon by definition. But now I realized it is...
Can this rifle be legally owned in Westchester County, NY? According to Ruger's site, it is NY compliant. I am thinking of getting one.

Hi All,
After carefully reading all the posts here and doing some research over the net, I think I may have some options.
1. DIY. I checked Palmetto State Armory site. They sell kits for upper and lower. That seems like a very attractive option. In the meantime, it saves me some money as well...
Thanks all for your inputs!
I am handy and once I understand how the gun works, I should have no problem putting it together. Do you have any web site to teach me how to start to build one? And, do I still need a background check or different legal procedures if I build one myself?
Hello all,
Newbie here. Please excuse me if my questions are naive. I thought of getting a pistol, however, after reading all legal requirements for owning a pistol in Westchester county, I changed my mind. So, I am thinking of getting a NY compliant AR 15. If I understand it correctly, I don't...
