What happened to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act?

You may need to be more specific. For the most part, most inquiries I have made have been answered adequately so I have not felt the need to make any response.

What happened to the Concealed Carry Reciprocity Act?

In light of the recent elections with republicans expanding their majority in the senate, does anyone know what the heck happened with the HR38 bill on nationwide concealed carry that passed the house last year. Was it ever even voted on in the senate or did it just die? I remember hearing about...

What Exactly is an "Illegal" Gun?

So liberal politicians (and even some conservative ones) love to use the term "illegal" gun when trying to promote their political views but can anyone actually define what it means. Much like "assault weapon" it doesn't seem to have any particular one meaning. Like when used by NY politicians...

Buying a long gun out of state via private sale

I see.......is there anyway for this to be enforced??

Buying a long gun out of state via private sale

Has anyone ever bought a rifle/shotgun out of state at a gun show (or elsewhere) via a private sale? Obviously there is no paperwork involved in such a transaction, but is there anything illegal about bringing that firearm back to NY?

Need some help folks.- Pistol Permit questions

Move to another state if it is so important to you. They intentionally make this process as annoying/irritating as possible to dissuade people from owning handguns. I would go as far to say that if you live in counties that act this way towards CCW, it is almost not even worth it.

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

So I have to ask, what state does the AZ permit add that the previous 5 do not??

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

Yeah, that doesn't sound too bad for CT (though I was hearing that the system was getting really backed up so it was taking much longer). What I find discouraging is that if you live in the southern part of the state (say Westchester County), and you travel 10 miles west, south, or east, you...

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

Yeah I can understand getting Florida or CT if those are place you travel to frequently. (though i hear CT is a pain in the ass) But there seem to be so many people trying to get UT, NH, PA, FL, NV together (plus whatever else) The gains from this approach seem to really drop off after the...

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

Here is what I don't understand about multiple permits beyond say NY and PA. After that, each additional one is going to cost you a lot more than the $20 that PA charges you and for what?.......you are only gaining the legal ability to carry in at most an additional 5 or so states. Is this...

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

Well which is it??...........I would honestly gain more respect for you if it were the latter

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

So you are like an LEO or something, or do you just disregard all regulations and carry as you see fit?

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

A NY or PA permit is not recognized in any of those "eastern seaboard" states

    Out-of-state permit holders: Chime in

Oh yeah???......so your've carried in Florida, south carolina, Maryland, Delaware, New Jersey, Connecticut, Rhode Island, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, and Maine (all states on the Eastern seaboard do not recognize either a NY or PA permit).......I think you need a geography lesson

Carrying on resticited NY permit out of state

Say someone has a NY CCW with administrative restrictions and decides to carry their handgun in another state that has reciprocity with NY. Do these restrictions old any weight whatsoever outside of NY. Like say you you went to TX and used your gun in a defensive manner, could you get into...

Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News

"Sovereign Citizens" are a byproduct of general police mistrust. I never condescended (have no idea where you got that) or implied that all cop haters are "sovereign citizens."

Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News

People only become "sovereign citizens" (I am assuming you are using this as a catchall phrase for people who like to give LEOs a hard time) because of the extensive amount of corruption and brutality that is endemic in this country/state. Granted, I am not one to act this way because it looks...

Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News

So how was this guy arrested? I mean I agree that he seemed like a really irritating individual based on the story, but that doesn't justify inverting a crime that doesn't exist.

Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News

I would seriously be curious to know if a black powder pistol has ever been used to commit a crime in the last 100 years. I'm pretty sure that criminals tend to rely on weapons that don't take 5 minutes to reload.

Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News

Has anyone heard of this story? Brooklyn Cops Arrest Man with Antique Firearm Replica - NYPD News I always thought antique pistols (i.e blackpowder) where not considered firearms by the state. If this story is true then the NYPD has officially reached new lows. Also, LOL at how they are...

Off-duty Texas officer entered wrong apartment, shot and killed resident

In a situation like this, it would be completely justified to shoot a police officer, or anyone who breaks into your home unidentified. Similar things have happened in the past........... Murder or Self-Defense if Officer Is Killed in Raid?

Chance of getting pistol permit with history of alcoholism and rehab

No one ever mandated that I do anything. I went to rehab 3 times over the past 20 years at my own discretion and failed each time I went.

Chance of getting pistol permit with history of alcoholism and rehab

Exactly. I think this is a very overlooked fact. Many of us need to drink because we can literally die if we try to stop (delirium tremors, etc). However, it is not like we go around in a state of drunkenness. I would be more concerned about an alcoholic handling a weapon without alcohol.

Chance of getting pistol permit with history of alcoholism and rehab

Why would they be so low so long as I conceal the fact that I am an alcoholic?

Chance of getting pistol permit with history of alcoholism and rehab

No DUIs or anything of that nature (can't really own a car here anyway so that hasn't really been something that could occur for me). I looked over application and there doesn't seem to be anything that tries to solicit this information. The only related thing that it refers to are psychiatric...

Chance of getting pistol permit with history of alcoholism and rehab

I am currently interested in applying to get a pistol license in New York County (Manhattan). However, I have struggled with alcohol abuse since my early 20s and have been admitted to rehab and the hospital for my alcoholism several times throughout my life. Does anyone here know whether going...
