She is not running for another term. She is the one who had gone along with the undersheriff and created this horrible system with the required classes and the problem with the undersheriff maintaining the "instructor list."
I agree with everything except the County Clerk's office is lazy. They need another person or two. They are processing thousands of amendments each year.
good luck. as far as i know it should take 4-6 weeks. if you have brown it might be quicker. this is a link to my website where i have all of the information on who the judges are except Freehill is gone and is replaced by a new judge. (i will have to update it.) click on the link that has...
What zip codes do the judges cover? {unofficial and as of the date i got it and subject to change without notice.) http://www.ocshooters.com/Hand/JUDGES%207-22-18%20BY%20ZIP-%20PLDEPT.pdf
You are correct Sir and now that I know the page it does not look like that section has changed and for those of you who geek out on this stuff that section has to do with NY PL 265, Definitions.
And the following has to do with PL 400 section 2(g)
(g) have, possess, collect and carry...
Nothing specific in the law address this issue but it is a combination of law and AG ruling.
First the law: NY PL265(15) "Loaded firearm" means any firearm loaded with ammunition or any firearm which is possessed by one who, at the same time, possesses a quantity of ammunition which may be...
I made a mistake when I was setting up the page for the changes and before I knew when they would take place. I went over the whole page tonight and updated several items including where the Pistol License Dept. is located, who the Judges are and how long your safety class is good for, (it is...
I put a note on the website page and I have called to see when they were going to start the change. I found about about it on the day after Ken Jones had his meeting with the Judges. I called Pistol License Department several days latter and they said that they did not know anything about it...
the pistol dept should be in Goshen by now, 3/17/18. I tried calling on Friday but no one answered.
check the website and see if they have anything posted before you go.
You can’t tell anything from the current list, we don’t know how they will set it up. They could divide the counties up into three regions and each judge would get one region. They could rotate the judges so person one gets judge A, person two gets judge B, person three gets judge C, person...
The Undersheriff, Ken Jones, ( he’s the one who hired his girlfriend to coordinate the civilian training program,“ announced that he had a meeting with judges on March 5 in they’re playing to have only the 3 Criminal Court judges issue Pistol Licenses and amendments. They still do not know...
They do have to do the investigation but you’re right, they take a ridiculous amount of time, around two months as far as I can tell. They go back to peoples houses and leave a card supposedly to make sure they live there. They can’t check people’s drivers license, voter registration, On line...
The reason for the backlog for fingerprinting is because NY law imposes a 6 month limit on how long it takes to issue a license. (No penalty if it takes longer.) OCSD can’t process all of the applications so they limit the number of people who are fingerprinted.
Because we are talking about amendments; this is a link to my Web-page that covers amendments. If you follow the instructions you should be able to download the amendment form and fill it in on your computer and save it for future use. (If you have any problems, please let me know and I will...
CORRECTION: This the quote from the THR article: "Alan Scheinkman, the administrative judge who oversees the five-county Ninth Judicial District, emailed Orange County’s judges on March 30 and told them to reissue those amendments, saying, “If we can correct this problem now, it may also...
it has to do with the orange pistol licenses and amendments and how the system is being abused for the benefit for certain people. this is one of the articles in the Times Herald-Record.
KINGSTON — A recent flap over Orange County amending pistol permits without a judge’s approval has led to...
One more thing about the THR article and the writer. They did an excellent job with all three of the articles. This is really technical stuff and you have to know not only how it works but what is in the law and not in the law. (It is not how you think the law works, how you want the law to...
What KJ and AR did was totally illegal. In other counties, like Ulster, the Judge gave a stamp with their name on it to the county clerk. Under PL 400 that is illegal and in Ulster county when the Admin Judge found out he ended the practice. Not only that but KJ & AR took it a step further...
