I have long maintained that we are not close to a "second civil war" or armed insurrection. The activity in Virginia is making me rethink this position. If democrats take over states with a very strong history of gun rights and immediately behave the way they are in Virginia I can see something happening.

We are headed towards some type of breakdown. Not sure how it plays out. Unlike first civil war which was regional with the mason dixon line as the boundary this battle is ubiquitous. It’s more a clash of ideas and clash of cultures. Call it rural vs urban, progressive vs traditional. In the end those of a progressive stance want to eradicate the constitution and build a socialist democratic state like European countries. We may be the last generation to care about 2A rights or the constitution. Each generation is being socially engineered by the left and programmed to hate our constitution and our country. We really need to have a state level electoral college. It's a way we can balance the whole rural vs. Urban issue. Elections, both state and national, should not be decided by a few major cities. This will never happen though.

It all depends on how the Blackface Gang has prepared for this.
The easiest way for them to shut the protest down before or on Monday is to have an incident and declare any assembly "unlawful." Coonman has very wide discretion to do so as a matter of the office he holds. The temporary emergency order took effect today, Friday the 17th and is in place through the weekend and Monday the 20th. Its certain this was on purpose not just to stymie the rally, but to "protect" Richmond altogether and not just the capitol grounds. Coonman clearly states this in his diatribe about the threats of violence and the arrest of the so-called "white supremacists" (who really knows if they are, the FBI has been running that playbook since the MLK civil rights era) in Maryland were arrested.
This might be the smartest way for Coonman to stop the rally and keep a large armed force out of Richmond if he has any real worry about things getting out of hand and maybe ending up with a rope around his neck. A remote possibility to be sure, but as von Clausewitz said, quantity at a certain point has its own quality. Any governor is going to rightly be concerned if 50k or 100k or more heavily armed pissed off people roll into town, even very patriotic governors who support the cause and uphold their oaths.
Northam has put this order in place to give law enforcement and any other agencies a chance to deal with logistics and planning throughout the city, and they are certainly going to be looking for citizen groups staging ahead of time for strategic and tactical reasons in case it gets ugly.
So, stage or incite a small incident and Coonman can save face and declare the whole thing off before it gets started and pretend to be acting like a wise and benevolent elected official. He gets to flex his governor's muscle under the color of law, and still keep a nasty situation from happening... MAYBE. If he "prevents" any serious violence or uprising, the press will sing his praises and bury his illegal actions as much as possible after the fact.
His power as governor absolutely must not be underestimated, especially since he has declared an emergency, and he's got the red diaper baby press in his back pocket.
If he pulls something like this, he can clearly on the basis of his authority as governor tell VCDL and GOA and anyone else who requested a permit to Assemble to stand down and stay home, even if he is in fact in violation of Virginia state law with regards to emergencies and illegally banning the bearing of arms. The courts might find him in violation of the law later on, but he is a sitting governor and has a lot of ways to cheat the system and thumb his nose at both the courts and the People of VA.
Of course Virginians don't want to be told to STFU and stay home before the buses even roll, so they are the wild card here. How many will be willing to drive into and walk around in Richmond if Northam declares that the assembly is unlawful before it even gets started? That's an open question.
If they come anyways, then what follows depends on how far they push things, and what kind of "tank traps" (i.e., strategic and tactical preparations) Coonman and the Blackface Gang have set. Given the legal and media rope-a-dope the Demsheviks have already played on the citizens of VA, and the obvious plan they had ready for when they took total control of the government of VA, I would be planning for the worse if I was a pissed off VA citizen who wanted to peacefully Assemble.
Another wild card factor here are the out-of-staters. Anyone who doesn't have their head in their 4th point of contact knows that if the godless communists can pull this off in VA, a state with a very long tradition of lawful open carry going back to Patrick Henry and Thomas Jefferson and George Mason and James Madison and freaking George freaking Washington, then the Demsheviks can pull this off in their state too, and they are right.
VA may have been trending purple for awhile, but it's not NY or Commiefornia where gun control bullshit has had a firm grip for a long time. Virginia rightly should be viewed as symbolic of the Revolution and the Founding, as it was the heart of both, or at least one of the most important states in terms of its sheer weight of Founders and the Spirit of their age. That symbolism is NOT lost on the anti-American scum either, a group of losers who are obsessed with symbolism and form and appearances over and above substance and quality.
If Northam has his ducks in a row, he's planned for many contingencies, although no plan can account for every possible known and unknown variable. If he has arranged various assets and agencies to be in place (both legal ones and extra-legal ones), and if the citizens have had enough, a lot depends on the resolve of both sides, and whether law enforcement personnel side with patriots or their pensions.
Certainly if assets are in place, it could be a kill zone. We have no real idea of the capabilities of the citizens or their plans for "politics by other means," but we do have a pretty good idea how both FedGov and state tyrants can make their own citizens bleed and the capabilities at the disposal to do so: IF(!) and Only IF the politicians can keep the domestic forces at their disposal in line and happier with their carve outs and salaries and pensions than with abiding by their oaths and standing with their fellow citizens.

Personally, I don't think Trump gives a rats ass what happens to Dem governor Northam and his cronies. However, an en masse rebellion in the state of Virginia will be impossible to ignore, and is going to elicit a Federal response, at least restore order.
God knows what's going to happen, and I don't know how Northam thinks he can control 100k+ ppl. Or even more, that are likely to get involved.

In the end, this kind of rally is only effective if VA state legislators believe that "the masses" will vote them out at the next election. Trends in VA politics suggest that this is indeed NOT the case.
You can bet that Bloomberg and the uber-rich Liberal Progressives are telling VA state legislators that they better play ball and continue on their current course. Otherwise, state legislators will be threatened with facing a more dangerous threat than voters......serious money from the far Left.

I don't want to see gov. Blackface win. It will set a blueprint and precedent for all other states to follow.

The police will be on their very best behavior regardless of Northam's desires. Northham wants to re-direct the anger to the counter protestors , maybe with a little help . If anything does happen , it most likely will take place in the square , where both sides are disarmed and police have control of the immediate area . That's where CNN's cameras will be too. The secondary areas to watch would be the lanes jut outside of the square where one side may circle around and meet protestors somewhere in-between . I can hazard a guess there will be a large group of KKK or neo Nazis looking for trouble , I would assume they would be in the square before eight oclock , or just drift in with the crowds .This is a perfect opportunity to discredit and demonize the alt right as NAZIS , If the powers that be can pull it off , antifa portrayed as heros or victims, patriot's as deranged hatefull racists.
