No. The AR with no stock which isn't a rifle that's also not a pistol because it has a forward grip on it. It cannot be a rifle because it left the factory with no stock and it cannot be a pistol because it left the factory with a forward grip. It is designed to be fired 2 handed. You are referring to the binary trigger?

All it is is a generic firearm.
Small correction, it's not a pistol because it is over 26" long, so it's to long to conceal. That means it can have a vertical grip without becoming an AOW like if you put a vertical grip on a pistol.No. The AR with no stock which isn't a rifle that's also not a pistol because it has a forward grip on it. It is actually less than 26 inches long. It's a tad over 23 inches.Small correction, it's not a pistol because it is over 26" long, so it's to long to conceal. That means it can have a vertical grip without becoming an AOW like if you put a vertical grip on a pistol.

Try again, straight from franklin armoryIt is actually less than 26 inches long. It's a tad over 23 inches.
The 26 refers to the absolute minimum length of the firearm as allotted by federal law. However, we chose to make the length an inch longer than necessary so that it would still be long enough to qualify as a non-AOW even if the muzzle device was removed. This length also makes it easier to see the chamber indication.
I was going by the information in this link below which is in contrary to what you are saying but that is irrelevant. They are wrong but right that It isn't a pistol, revolver, shotgun, or rifle.Try again, straight from franklin armory

Is the Franklin Armory SE SSP 7.5" AR pistol that I posted (has no vertical foregrip, but does have a brace) NY legal with a 10 round fixed mag?pistol
I can see sooooo many grey areas in law with it legal/not legal. I want to see video of it shot as a handgun! lol
Yeah, good luck with that...
BTW, I did read PL 265
But if you can get an FFL within NYS to transfer it to you, go for it!

And you're still ignoring "Yeah, good luck with that". Dude, it's a Mossberg 590 with a pistol (yeah, yeah, "birds head") grip and a barrel cut down to 14". Good luck with it in NY. I'll say it again if you can get an FFL to transfer it go for it. Or just buy a Mossy 590 and cut the stock and barrel and see how that works for you.
Whatever bro, done with this. (Reminds me of another place, LOL). Good luck.
Um, yeah,
So much like the other place... UGH!
Not for nothing..but it seems it's your attitude on this that makes it like "the other place" that you keep saying. I've only read page one of this thread so I really don't know how many more digs and disses continue in the following pages. But from what I see it's your responses that are the only ones snippy and "other place" style
What would the paperwork read on retail sale?... 'other' or 'pistol' or 'shotgun'?I will do it.
Any AR pistol with a fixed magazine is legal in NY.Is the Franklin Armory SE SSP 7.5" AR pistol that I posted (has no vertical foregrip, but does have a brace) NY legal with a 10 round fixed mag?
Any AR pistol with a fixed magazine is legal in NY.
If that is legal, I would want to build a 9mm with that sort of configuration. This is also NY compliant with a fixed 10 round mag (it has a pistol brace)? Or must the vertical foregrip be removed?
FRANKLIN ARMORY™ XO-26-S™
I will do it.
I just cant get any.
If it has a fixed magazine and you have a pistol permit why wouldn't a FFL transfer it?I'm curious, would you transfer the franklin arsenal xo-26? As it comes from the factory, (flash hider, pistol grip, detachable magazine)

The FFL would have to fix it to be legal in NY. That's the only way AR pistols are legal in this state.Because it doesn't have a fixed magazine, it has a standard detachable magazine.

I guess I got sucked in and didn't realize this was still the same firearm as was in the OP. Ya I guess I haven't done enough research to form an opinion on this grey area. Personally I would just settle for an AR pistol with a fixed magazine, but then again I'm one of those people that don't have fixed mags.Yes, but according the the ATF it isn't a pistol. Thats why I was asking. According to the atf it isn't a pistol, rifle, or a shotgun.

I DO NOT want one of these.
I'm curios why isn't it considered a pistol? It isn't the same gun, just another example of a not rifle, not shotgun, not pistol.
