last weekend I saw a buck rubbing saplings and mosey his was down the trail rubbing and eating and just being a buck... walk right my me at 5 yards was nice to see...but he didnt bring a turkey with him!!!!
Id be happy just seeing them to watch them........but I will will watch the deer in turkey season and probably watch the turkeys during deer!!! way my luck goes!!!

Does anyone know why there have been NO DOE PERMITS for DMU 6A? no doe permits at all for the last 4 years, no doe, no land owners, no nuisance permits, no preference points at all.
Only antlered deer, period. No one at the DEC seems to know why? anyone here have a clue?

That's about all I'll do this year. Might get out for coyotes if I dont mind the weather.
I haven't seem many ticks this year but last night one of the dogs brought a few in. Two really small ones walking up my pants and seen a huge blob on the floor, must have been engorged and wasn't looking to feed.

One of my sons took a doe late in the day yesterday he decided to let it be until this morning since it was going to be getting dark and he thought his shot was a bit back. He found it at first light but the yotes had their fill ate out the hind, neck and tore it to pieces.
he and his older brother will be back at dusk with their evil baby killers to see if the yotes return.

I was up all weekend. Saw a bunch of does running around Friday evening and Saturday morning but then not a single deer from Saturday afternoon to Monday morning.
I have a really long-tined 8pt on my camera almost every night, even while we were up there but he doesn’t want to make a day time appearance.

The area I hunt in the Northern zone 6J has been off limits for doe kills with muzzle loader and I'm fine with it. Just not enough deer for the amount of land. Hard winters and little vegetation keep the herd count too low as it is..

Took a doe this weekend. Will be out this weekend with the xbow if weather forecast stays as is.
Tbh if i hunted a part of the state with so few deer they don't give out dmps and it’s buck only it would seriously hamper my enjoyment. Been out maybe 8 times so far, seen deer in stand each time, most sits a couple of sightings but other than a couple of bucks that very first Saturday I’ve seen only does since.

There’s a lot of bear running around your spot up the hill from me but if you haven’t been there in a while there is a house being built just below the parking area at the top of The hill. Just an FYI
Dude we have a monster bear on the cameras a few times. First time we have seen bear in 6 years. I saw a small one at a distance entering a corn field that borders our property a few weeks ago.

Tell me about coyotes and raccoons, particularly in a semi-residential area (aka I can't use a rifle as we're on a ridgeline and the valley has a bunch of houses in it).
Our indoor / outdoor cat hasn't been home for at least 24 hours and I've never had any concerns about her and predators in the hood before.
And now I'm about ready to kill anything with a fang or a claw in the neighborhood.
