Finally starting to harvest some veggies from the garden besides the over abundance of lettuce. Had a nice zucchini and yellow squash which we grilled with the chicken and ribs yesterday. I just picked a bowl of yellow wax beans to sauté with tonights dinner.

Oh and the garlic in the above photo has hardened up nicely. We
also got another haul of blackberries. One more bowl this size and we’ll be able to make a nice big deep dish blackberry pie.

Picked 111 cases of zucchini outa this piece on Friday. Picked 110 cases today. It’s 8 beds 350’ Long each.

Whatchagonnado?actually we direct seed zucchini on plastic beds. The holes get made with a water wheel planter then the seeds are dropped and covered by hand. So spacing is only off if one doesn’t come up. ( average is 5 per row )
I will admit to my rows sometimes being wavy and I blame that on checking in on this forum when I should be making straight lines

Just found two dead squash (or cucumber. Most likely squash) with dried bottom stalks.
We’re fine yesterday.
Opened them up expecting those grubs like last year. Nada.
Opened the stem and buried them in soil.

We’ve been experimenting with trellising different veggies and this year we trellised spaghetti squash. Here one is two days ago.
And here it is today ! That sucker grew bigger in just two days. Decided to not push the envelope and harvested it for tomorrow’s dinner, along with a couple yellow squash.

I'm thinking related - but definitely bigger, and the pictures may not be great but that back is basically a flat, matte tan color with a couple of spots.
It's about the length of the end of my thumb (knuckle to tip).
