A 16’ x 50” steel wire fence panel from Tractor supply. I have one on either end of my largest raised bed box. One end is for trellising cucumbers the other end is usually for beans, but we decided to try spaghetti squash this year. I’ve been grabbing One or two the last Couple of years when they are on sale.

Grow some sacrificial plants and keep them alive. Butterflies are on the decline hugely.

I saw a kitchen compost bucket in a photo that you posted recently. Don’t you use any composted material for fertilizer., Or to make compost tea to water you plants? Compost is all the fertilizer that I use With really good results.

We do but as we got a late start this year we weren't able to mix the compost in with the soil. I do need to start making compost tea. Was a hard year to get started not least because I had to do most of it myself (I'm more the hunter / gatherer and the wife is the farmer). Been a big learning year for me.

These 16’x50” steel wire fence panels Work excellent as a trellis.
this is a photo of both sides of the largest raised bed box. Left side is cucumbers and a clamatis . The right side is completely taken over By the spaghetti squash. If you look closely you may be able to see the kiwi berry vine that I have on there too.

This is a left over piece of a fence panel that I cut to 8’. It works nicely for the two cucamelon plants that I recently planted.

My garden in the back forty is going gangbusters!!!!!!! Tons of sweet corn, squash, and of course, my wife gourds and indian corn.
Oh yeah, can a man have too much pie, hah! This one is black berry, black raspberry combo, effing awesome!!!! My wife already made as much currant jam as possible and will be making what I think is the worlds best jam, a combo of blueberry, red raspberry, black raspberry, and blackberry, an amalgam of flavor that is greater than its parts.
A truly great growing season so far.

Damn squirrels are killing me. They are now eating my black berries. They chew the entire head off at the branch and eat them all. I’m thinking of just throwing in the towel!! I can’t keep the squirrels away. My wife wants me to build some huge fence contraption but that takes the fun out of it IMO. I’m tearing down the trellis this weekend. At least make the fuckers fight for it and not give them a perch to eat it right in front of my backdoor.

They are destructive little bastards! I’ve been knocking them out of my apple tree with a slingshot and marbles quite a bit lately. I’ve distracted them somewhat with a platform ground feeder for them that I put unshelled peanuts on. It keeps them Busy and gives me a better opportunity to wack em good with a marble.
Did I mention that I HATE tree rats?!

@Calculon - these need a bit of work before planting but these are on tap for probably weekend / early next week in terms of burying ginger. Only needs a little bit of soil over it to start. Wife places saran wrap over the planter for a couple weeks (second pic is current growth on what I posted the other day).

I feel your pain @Saltwater60. My two biggest tomatoes were ravaged by squirrels today. They were just starting to ripen. I’m pissed I wish I could shoot those little bastards. I’ll be building a cover for my raised bed this weekend. If that doesn’t work it may be time for a few nasty outdoor cats.

Yep. Cover with an inch or so of dirt- but leave the little green growing parts exposed. It likes a lot of sun and water at first. The saran wrap helps.
Good to pare them down to little pieces and basically plant the sprouting bits at about the size of a peach pit.
