Except they aren’t the same because the Super is a real caliber. Defensive ammo is made for it and it’s a fielded caliber in other countries.
If you were to compare the Major to the Dillon and say that they are the same, that would be correct since they are both used mostly for competition and neither is a fielded caliber.

Yes the .38 super was saami speced so commercially produced and even has some defensive loads. But again the only thing driving the market for the super is competition use just like the only thing 9mm major is looked at for is competion use.
Please tell me what countries are using .38 super as their military or major police caliber, actually I couldnt give two fucks because even if there are some it's not nearly enough to keep the caliber relivent.
Just because in the early 1900s the super had some success outside of competition doesnt mean that the main use keeping it relevant today is competition.
You keep saying how popular it is in latin america and ban countries.... why? Is .38super just everyone's go to carry round for personal protection in those countries? Is that why it is so popular and sales of it arent in the tank?
