Most if not all hotels in vegas will have an armory to store any firearms due to the high amount of people going there for training as was mentioned. plus all teh trade shows and such in vegas.

The actions of course suck, but the motive is going to determine how this is handled in the future which is what i believe many people are currently worried about. Nothing will undo what occurred, but whatever occurs in the next month due to this will likely leave a lasting impression on our nation and the motive will almost definitely have an impact on that.
