Wasn't it already decided that "keep and bear arms" applies to more than just the actual firearm? Ammo, non-lethals, defensive equipment, etc., are also included..

Plus, background checks and other means that end up with "fees" on this Right are no different than taxing that Right.. NY and CA will have to provide these services, free of charge, if they intend on having ANY hope of applying them to a Right.

So...training, fees, requirements, all have to be provided free-of-charge or they fall afoul of the "taxation of a Right" prohibition.

I get all my ammo from outside of New Yorkistan anyway. When we leave again, which should be by next Saturday. I hope. I can buy anything I want. Except in Ohio ( or maybe its Michigan ) , for some odd reason, Ohio/Michigan does not allow "straight wall rifle cartridges" to be sold in the state? You can buy all the necked down stuff you want, just not things like 45-70

As a prominent reloader, it’s not all peaches and cream....

Primers are scarce and sky high. While I got plenty of reloading supplies to feel comfortable, it’s the fact that I find it more work to source the primers right now. I expect it to get worse if this stuff keeps happening.

Maybe now with all that student loan savings people will buy more guns and ammo…oh wait never mind those loans will just probably buy more COVID masks

Anyone try to buy ammo today? I went through the motion for target sport USA and it seemed like it would have gone through. I have enough for now and I just spent what I’m allotting myself so I closed out before hitting place order.

California has a law limiting how much ammo residents can bring in from out of state, I'm sure NY would be happy to copy that if they got the idea. You'd have to be an idiot to comply. Go to PA or Vermont, pay cash, keep it in a closed container or compartment out of sight bringing it back in if you are worried.

For my part I'm glad I'm stocked up, I don't intend to buy another single round from a dealer in New York while this is in effect.

Can't be true, straight-wall cartridges are legal for deer in OH/MI now. Might be hard to find on a shelf, but legal.

According to S51001 background checks are to be done as of April 2023, if I am reading and understanding correctly. The logging of ammo sales like in the OP listed is to have started as of Sept. 1, 2022. I called Albany and got that info. The semi auto long gun sales crap goes into effect 9/4.
