I agree with @Mosinitis It is a new barrel, I would talk to the barrel manufacturer before picking up the drill. If they say the gas port should be x sized and it isn’t then you have a decision to make. Send it in or drill it out.

Are you using factory ammo or reloads? If you are using reloads what powder are you running.

The easiest way is with drill bits. I find the one that fits Tightly in the port and measure it.

Incorrect gas hole on White Oak barrel is the least likely scenario.

Depends upon the level of mechanical ability of the builder, parts quality and what phase the moon is in. Tolerance stacking is an issue sometimes and sometimes not. I know this doesn’t help you but all Franklin builds Will have their quirks.

Not cycling at all is a fluke. Occasional feeding problems, bolt not locking back on the last round happens.

No thanks, but thanks for the offer. both of BCG fire fine on my other upper, Im going to purchase a clamp on gas port. The Bravo company one I have now is extremely tight and very tough to move and adjust. I would like to send it out and pay someone who does it for living . Its about 4 weeks to game time and I have my pecker swinging in the breeze.

like mosinitis said don't drill anything at the risk of screwing up something. If the port is bad we will get to it in
a proper way not like the hack job above.

Do this.

take you upper and cover the chamber with your Cuomo finger(middle one) and on the muzzle using your fist tight as
a nice round 'kissing" area blow air through the muzzle. you should have a constant flow of air out of the gas tube
right above your cuomo finger. If you don't you have a big problem.

in terms of your BCG it should open freely so after making sure you stack the rings properly staggered then
take your air gun with the fine tip and after you push the bolt closed, give it a quick squirt owith the air gun on the key
and it should open right up. If not, you have a problem. The tip of your gas tube that goes inside the key should be
nicely flared and make a nice seal w/o being stock or creating an interferance. Get it properly lined up but we
are not there yet. Do those two simple tests first.

What these tests will tell you?
A) That you have a reasonable amount of air passing through your port, gas block and tube.
B) That your bolt produced engouh back pressure so it doesn't have any other choice to rotate and open.

After this then we can see if the problem is that you don't get enough gas or that there is some other thing going on
like a mechanical interference.

Before you start speculating about ports and other theories do these simple tests above.

BTW in order to put the gas block again, if it is so tight put the barrel in a freezer for a while and the gas bock slightly
heated with a torch and it will drop right in. To take it out do the same and then just warm up the block for 1 minute all
around w/o warming the barrel. At some point the gas block will be much easier to hammer out.

fyi: The best gas blocks are always small ones made of stainless steel and clamp type. Easier to install and best seal at all
times. Set screw, pinned, etc.. should be avoided.

I stuffed a bandana through the breech and held it with my finger. I was able to get the tip of my other finger on the lip of the gas tube. I blew into the barrel and it didnt seem like any air was passing through.

might wan to warm it up a little so slightly all around and use a rubber mullet if it gets stubborn.
next thing we are going to make sure the port is done all the way through and the
gas block is aligning properly. Time to also check the gas tube doesn't have an obstruction of some sort.

that's fine. I know you don't have calipers or micrometers or anything so I am going to give you some simple ideas
to measure very precisely. lets do it step by step. you see the actual measures do not mean much but those measures
relative to the other parts that need to mate together. In occasions things are totally off and out of spec but it
is a rare event. more times than not is a simple issue.
