Anyone have any training lined up for end of summer/fall?

Also, who are your favorite to train with? I'm getting the training itch again but there are so many good instructors out there its hard to find the time and money to do it all. I would love to get into a few of Craig Douglas's classes but they book months in advance, and are hard to find within a relatively close distance to NY. Steve Fisher is also on my short list of gurus to train with, his shoot house classes out of Ohio look like alot of fun.

Sure that works too. You asked a question, I responded. You didn't like the response and yet somehow it is my fault?
However, I will humor you once again, The end of the summer is time for me to spend with my kid doing things like shooting, movies and road trips.

I am not really all that big on paying for classes. Most of my training, nearly all, is done on my own. I listen to friends and take pointers from them, I watch a few videos here and there; for the most part, it is just me.

I have been to a couple of classes in the past, didn't leave with much more than I already had.

I try to make it to Sig 3-5 times a year. The last couple of years, it's only been once or twice a year due to employment issues. Now that that's resolved, I plan to resume my 3x-5x plan.

I also have Thunder Ranch and the NSSF Three-Gun Fantasy Camp on my list for next year. With certain exceptions, I'm done with training locally.

Iv trained with Chris Fry before, hes a great teacher who adjusts his level based on the competency of his student/s. Iv got nothing but good things to say about him.

Thunder ranch is also on my list but not anytime soon. its cost prohibitive being so far away

I'm sure you've gotten a ton of instruction from the various services/agency's you've worked for. This thread is geared for us lowly civilians who have to pay for that kinda thing

I've never trained with Chris, but I've broken bread with him on a couple of occasions, and we've talked about training. He's good people, and I like what he does. Just never had the opportunity to get into one of his classes.

I used to be the trainer, as interesting as it was dealing with 2LTs, it was never fun. Especially after they had listened to and "been trained" by their SGM. Had a CPT put a 9mm round into the ground two inches from my left foot one day, cannot say I am a fan of training with or around anyone anymore.

Not at all trying to one up, hell we could share stupid officer stories all day, anyway, when I was in Germany, I was NCOIC of the 9mm range. A CPT got up to the line, loaded and tried to fire. The gun did not go bang. He sounds around, faced opposite of the line and asked, " how does this thing work?". The safety was on. Yeah, this was a Captain.

Don't take it as a shot.... Training is pure awesome. All should do it as often as possible. I consider myself to be blessed that I have had all the opportunities that have come my way!

LMAO, I cannot imagine the look on your face. I would have been " CPT what is your major malfunction?" The CPT that almost shot me was a nurse, I only hope she did her job better than she handled a weapon.
