Well when I first saw it I will admit like many I laughed and instantly decided nope bad design and a fail.
I am talking about.. the Aimpoint ACRO P-1. Now I will admit there was many things about this sight I like(d) such as the fully enclosed emitter. But when I saw it i thought nope way, way to big that's stupid.
Then I saw Victory 1st release their G43 slide with ACRO milling and I thought what the fuck that's huge why why I dont get it.
Well I kept following the sight because well it's one of if not the first red dot designed from the ground up to be mounted on a pistol and used for serious duty and carry use. (I am looking forward to Aaron Cowen of Sage Dynamics doing a review)
And not going to lie the couple if people I have been talking about with this has been me trying to bash it and a terrible option for concealed carry. Until now, I saw on Victory 1st FB page a picture I have been hoping to see, a direct size comparison of the ACRO and the RMR and dammit they are the same size foot print for all that matters.
And here it is on a G17
Yes it still looks a little large, but it also seems to sit lower in the slide and even uses standard height sights
While I love the RMR and I don't see that losing much sales this option is starting to grow on me and I am going to keep following it
