I work late nights, tending bar. I get stopped quite often on my way home and almost every time I am stopped the trooper asks if I have a handgun or any other weapons on me, or if I have any weapons in my truck.

Yeah, right befor the war in Israel it was about 30-35 cents a round. I buy ammo when I think about, usually in the summer and fall. I save my reloading components for the winter and for the times where everything vanishes off the shelf. I am picking up factory ammo to have an abundance of once fired brass after each range session.

The strategy is to park at a gay bar, sneak out the backdoor (pun there); take an Uber to the show. The NYSP that follow you will be busy with the ATF agents at the bar and they'll unintentionally run interference for you. Wear nondescript clothing and do not bring your dog.

With all the money I made I bought a rock tumbler, a wood burning kit, a Snoopy Snow Cone machine and had money left over for some Colorforms. Life is SO much easier now. I wanted to place an order for some ammunition and have it shipped to my co-worker in Pennsylvania. What I found out was, no companies would do that because my credit card has a NY billing address. Asking my co-worker to place the order on his credit card was a bridge too far for me to go, so..... I bought a pre-paid Visa debit card for the exact amount of the order. Then I placed the order as a "guest" so there was no account set up, and used the Visa to pay. No billing address, no ties to NY at all. I even made up a name very similar to my co-worker's so it looks like it should be shipped to him, just with a minor spelling error.
And ALL COMPLETELY LEGAL !
Bonus, no tax money to NYS, no data for the NYSP to build a file on me, and it gave me a warm and fuzzy feeling knowing I stiffed NYS !

I ship ammo to myself to an undisclosed address in PA with a NY billing address all the time . On another note a certain company wouldn't allow me to order primers online they needed a phone call so I bought from a different company and they are being delivered to my NY address.
I have had no issues at all receiving components of any kind.
Shipping ammo from yourself to yourself is very different than purchasing it from a company such as Buds or Target Sports or Graf's. None of the companies that I used to purchase from on a regular basis wanted to do business with me because I live in NY, regardless of it being shipped to PA. I found a work-around.

I should have clarified that I purchased ammo online from an undisclosed dealer in another state and have it shipped to me at an address in PA , I'm not shipping from myself to myself. Go ahead and try to order primers online from reloadingunlimited.com not going to happen without calling them. I bought elsewhere they'll be here this week .
During all of 2020 and 2021, I was liberating primers from Canada. I used to deliver to a gun shop up there, and every time I did, I would purchase 1 or 2 cases of primers. I would smuggle them back into the US and supply my friends. Some of them I would sell for a reasonable profit. I have primers stacked deep in my reloading room....I won't be buying any for a long time !

Which part? Where I live, my observation of a NYSP car equipped with trunk mounted cameras in a spot they don’t often sit (I live on the road in question and travel it daily), or my noting that a new LGS is opening up nearby on the free-er side of the border?
We should organize a drive-by.
No, not the kind that involves shooting.
The kind where hundreds of New York people drive into PA from a different location, then return past this camera car.
We don't even have to buy anything if we don't want to, just go for a nice quiet drive in the country.
Bonus points if we all take pictures of the cop car and any occupants as we pass by and post them to social media.
