I hate arrogance and double standards. There is also a historical fact that can't be written off. The only antidote to Colonialism was Communism and Soviet Union led the way.

Communism had as much to do with the end of colonialism as they did the end of horses in warfare, which is to say nothing.
I guess at some point either the communists will win and you'll be all vindicated, or you'll have to excuse "free helicopter rides for communists" as "that's just our culture".

You are right, there is some evil everywhere, but that doesn't excuse it.
Our founding fathers were great men, and slavery was near universal throughout history when they lived. That doesn't mean it wasn't evil when they practiced it.
Not only Communist countries led the movement against colonialism, they did it by spending resources of their own people and with nothing to gain in return. JFK had to create Peace Corps to counter positive publicity Soviet Union was getting in developing countries. This is the legacy of the 20th century, how dare you rewrite history.
Does Nierenberg trial ring a bell? U.S. was one of the participants. It's not like Communist ideology can't be put on trial. Trials involve evidence and cross examination. It's not going to put the West in good light. It can only backfire in a big way.

Communism was a temporary stage that was needed to counter bigger evils, (Nazis, Colonialism, the rule of oligarchy and so on). It is retarded to frame International relations going forward on ideological stances of past century. With total destruction of family structure as a pillar of the society and promotion of drug use as recreation, good luck going forward. I live in this country, so I can't wish it ill, but I just don't see a bright future and I am not the only one.

Communism was not remotely necessary to counter anything though. We did a far better job doing that with capitalism.
Colonialism was the nation state version of slavery. Countries owning countries. It ended for the same reason. It became economically inferior to other relationships.
Just like it is superior to have employees over slaves, it was superior to have satellite states over colonies.
You don't want to be bothered with all the details necessary to keep your satellites/employees around/alive. Much easier to make them do that themselves.
Ever wonder why slavery was a staple throughout all of human history, then suddenly ended everywhere in a short span of time ? Did the whole world suddenly become enlightened ?

WWII ended colonialism. Due to the drastic sudden geopolitical and technological changes. Communism had nothing to do with it.

Historically the Eastern central governments never cared too much for the spend or human life. Communities yes, they cared but not the Establishment. I agree all military superpowers committed horrible crimes during and after the great wars and also to protect and promote the military industrial complex.
