What a reason to vote no. Cuomo wants a yes vote.

The benefit is pension protection. It’s in the nys constitution that they can’t lower pension benefits once given. Without it Cuomo can raid the pension funds to pay for his welfare and pet projects

I have to admit I'd like to see it happen but frankly the process sounds entirely too complicated and costly. I'd love to see a new NY where their is term limits on the governor and labor unions don't have a stranglehold on the bulk of state employment. But it'll never happen this state is to far gone.
I'm almost rooting for it because the status quo sucks so much that I'm willing to roll the dice and hope for the best.
My thinking is it sucks already. If it actually got worse which is possible when considering the fake rinos, governor monkey face and the general stupidity of most down state voters and politicians but I digress...
If it actually got worse it might be the final straw that motivated me enough to pack up and leave this state. So considering that, it may be a no lose situation for me. If they improve things, great. If they ruin things more it might motivate me to speed up my escape plan

I need a clear explanation (yes, I am THAT stupid),
- how are the delegates selected?
- are they selected based on fixed number per county?
- are they selected based on population?
- will the dump (NYshitty) get three delegates per voting district?
- will the delegate split be just like the general election whereby upstate voting accounts for nothing?
Astorino won 46 counties vs monkeyface winning 16 counties in the last gubernatorial election. This meant nothing because of the pop density in NYshitty.
Will the same results come to play in a convention?
If yes, then obviously a convention will make things in NY go from terrible to OMFG I can't believe this is really happening.
If no, then maybe this can work.
My initial thoughts are NFW this will end well.

My union is pushing heavily for a no vote. Which in most cases means I've voting yes. But after reading this thread, I'm changing my mind.

YOU have a better chance of finding 30 year old virgin women in whore house then getting any of that.
They do not need the ability to open up the pension funds and drain them down for their social programs. And to change how much pesoiniers receive even after they have been retired and live on a fixed income or how about dropping them from the health-care plans. It a total loss loss for us.

Yep. Even if you don't have a pension, would anyone here want a working man's money to go to pay for benefits for those that didn't earn it?

I’ve been on the fence about this. I want change as badly as the next conservative stuck here, but if Cuomo is stumping for this, I’m concerned. The guy is a corrupt snake... if he wants it there’s not a snowball’s chance in hell it’ll be good for the state, the state constitution, or its residents who live outside his tiny little power base.

If you think you hate the effect NYC has on upstate now, along with every damn corrupt politician and their flunkies, grab your ankles and hold on for dear life if it passes.
As for me, upstate is my home and I love it. But I've thrown in the towel. As soon as the opportunity becomes available to haul ass out and never come back, I'm gone. Fuck all of those who have utterly ruined this beautiful state.
