And with some of the bullets in the OP video, that .380 would have gone clean through both shoulders of that pig just like the .45 did.
I don't want to carry anything smaller than 9mm. Just my personal preference, but that's my cut off. Not saying I'm right or anyone is wrong. That's just me. And no, I don't want to get hit with a .380, or anything else for that matter.
The expanding bullets would not have tho. That 45 left a hole nearly 1 inch in diameter.
I carry my lcp with confidence tho.
Of course I was joking about a lcp in 45. The lcp custom is a bastard to shoot in 380 as it is.
Well to be fair the 380 is still tech 9mm

Of course the 380 id going to hurt. I am also not saying the 380 is bad or that the 9mm is much better and versatile choice for ammo, that it is. But there are 9mm pistols that are single stack, very small that fit comfortably in a front pocket of your jeans and in the most popular pistol round on the planet.
Pistols you can hold with at least 3 fingers and shoot pretty effectivrlly in PD drills like idpa.
Because regardless of the caliber, when a pistol gets really small, you loose range and leverage.

I guess you didn’t bother looking at the picture examples I posted above. Those are still bigger and heavier than an LCP. It’s like the difference between a Glock 19 and a 26. And the difference between a Glock 26 and a Sig P365. And the difference between a Sig P365 and a Sig P290. And finally the Sig P290 and the LCP.
Those are all big differences. And their are times when those differences mean a lot.

This is not a pissing context. Those are pretty small guns comparable to popular 380s that fit in ones pocket that is the goal.
Much smaller than those starts working against ones goal for effective defensive shooting.
Even a 380 you don't want it to be too small and light.

It’s not supposed to be or meant to be a pissing contest. You can also easily conceal a Glock 19 IWB but you may not want to so you settle for a Glock 26. And sometimes that 26 is too big so you go with the single stack 9’s you posted. And sometimes even those are too big but you don’t want to understand that. Sometimes even an LCP is even too big that folks go with a derringer.
There are many situations where a single stack 9 is too big. You are saying that it ends at the single stack 9. It doesn’t.

All that I am saying is, like one should not write off the 380, one should neither write off the 9mm for pocket carry.
There are some wonderful little guns for the popular 9mm.
And the .40 is a 10mm

Look. My wife cannot conceal carry anything larger. We tried my buddy’s (May he Rest In Peace) Glock 42 which is the exact same size as the Kahr PM9 and she printed to all hell. The LCP she can do with no problems. She cannot carry at work and with this she can.
Then there is me. I’m tired of carrying a heavy gun. Quite honestly, I do not want the hassle of carrying a gun at all but with the LCP I can. I’ve done the Glock 26 and the single stack 9. I still feel it’s weight. I don’t want to feel it’s weight. With the LCP, I do not. I don’t even know it’s there. I do not want to stuff a heavy single stack in my pocketless pajamas to go walk the dog outside. With an LCP, I can stuff it in my waistband with no belt. I can stuff it in my waistband to walk to my community pool in my swimming trunks. I can go jogging with it and not feel it. I can stop at the post office with it after my jog. You get the point?
You do the same thing with people that want a .308 with a 16 inch barrel. Not everyone wants a long bench gun with a foot long scope attached to it. They are willing to compromise some ballistics and magnification for comfort.

I have 2 friends that are cops and they both carry the Glock 42 off duty. I joke with them sometimes saying “You better not shoot anyone with that. If they find out they’re gonna be mad and come kick your ass!”
I know they got them at a good deal through their agency, but I don’t think they’d carry it if it didn’t make sense. I will say however, that they carry a .40 or .45 when they work some kind of protective detail or are going to an event of some kind, but when just stopping out for a beer, the .380 is their choice.

Wow people really find it this hard to pull on jeans with a holster attached? I didn’t know that. Pocket carry is wonderful if your first move is to display a firearm. Terrible if you have to go hands on. People really walk around with guns just stuck in their pockets?

I don’t carry an LCP in a pocket. I carry it IWB appendix. I don’t feel that it’s there.
