The first picture is slightly askew and does make the Sig look much smaller. But the second cannot be chalked up to camera angle. It’s clearly thicker, but the overall length is no different no matter how you line them up.

All depends on what holster and where.
Small of the back ? Traditional pocket ? very slow and difficult.
Appendix or cargo pocket ? Not so difficult.
All carry is a compromise. Even a soldier in full "battle rattle" is carrying an M4 because an M249 is too heavy.
Where the right compromise sits for you depends on a lot of variables. Not the least of which is the threat environment you face.
Well since we’re not talking about soldiers in combat here, all of us have the same threat considerations: a violent perp, possibly armed with a firearm as well, likely not wearing body armor but possibly on drugs or in an otherwise enhanced state. And for some, animals.
Since handgun calibers are all relatively weak for positively ending a threat immediately (ie, a charging knife wielder will most likely still get to you), I don’t see where a further tradeoff in firepower (round count and caliber) is worth making just to save another minute amount of overall size/weight on already compact firearms.

Looks like it isn’t too far shorter than the 26 from that picture. About a quarter inch from the 365. From this actual picture compared to the 26, the LCP 2 difference is massive.
Having 4 less rounds of .380 compared to 9mm is a huge tradeoff that I’m not willing to make. That’s a serious difference someone has to be comfortable with to get to that size.

Then there is the weight issue too. Like I said, I can IWB it with just drawstring pajama pants. As far as ballistics go, there are .380 hollow points that penetrate 15 inches and .380 hard casts that penetrate 40 inches which over-penetrates 9mm ball rounds.
As with any caliber, make sure the right ammo is used. It would make no sense to carry a .380 that penetrates 9 inches when other hollow point loads are penetrating more than some 9mm loads at 15 inches. The right ammo for what you consider adequate penetration is paramount. Not the caliber.
You have a point on the capacity issue. Sure 11 is better than 7 or 8 with an extended mag or maggutts spring and follower. But to sacrifice 3 to 4 rounds for all day comfort and absolutely no way of printing possible, for me the 3 to 4 rounds is a good trade off. That can be made up with carrying extra magazines which is what I used to do anyway when I used to have a 9mm XDS of similar capacity.

I don't even know what's being argued here. Do you guys have some type of stake in what others are carrying? I mean I can see if you are a salesman for a certain brand/gun. But what the hell do yous care what someone else carries? I shall carry my colt junior to the movies tonight.

The argument or debate or whatever one wants to call it stems from constitutional rights violations threads. 2 people here just don’t like what was said in those threads so they are playing a game of trying to discredit what one wants to carry. It’s childish and the fact that they are reading and responding to posts but not quoting them is equally childish because of a promise they once made not to engage me.

I don't see an argument or anything like that in this thread. I see a few people discussing likes and dislikes of a particular type of handgun.
As for brand, I love Ruger. I have a safe filled with them. I own, I think, 18 different Ruger guns. Again, love them. Just have no use for a tiny gun like the LCP (II), or the .380 round.
We’re talking about the tradeoffs. I couldn’t care less what someone else carries. The debate is whether the tradeoffs are really worth it.

We don't all have the same threat considerations.
Some of us are more likely to be threatened by 4 legged animals than 2 legged.
Even the 2 legged varieties vary regionally.
And the odds we are going to have a problem vary drastically.
Your profession for instance will lead to you making lots of enemies out of the sorts of people who make bad decisions. That means your odds of ever needing your carry gun are much higher than mine for instance.
Also, you do make a tradeoff for round count and caliber. 9mm and .40sw are far from the most effective rounds you could choose to carry.
So some of us carry a .380 instead of a 9mm for the same reason you carry a 9mm instead of a .50ae.

And some here carry a single stack XDS with a 5+1 capacity off duty yet they are agreeing with someone else who's argument about capacity is a tradeoff that they aren't willing to make by liking their posts. Weird. Very weird.

I have a SIG in 9mm Kurtz. Had the SIG subcompacts been available back then, in 9mm Para, I would have most probably bought one. As it is, I can deliver where I want out to twenty-five yards, maybe more but that's the limit of my practice routine and I don't think I am at any disadvantage.

I handled the LCP II and the 365 this morning (as well as S&W Bodyguard and the Glock 42 and 43 and CZ P10). The LCP II is definitely significantly smaller than the 365 but I see you guys straightened that out. I am going with the SIG P238 - I shoot the gun well, I am a fan of metal, hammer fired pistols, and with the extension on the magazine it fits my hand better than anything I mentioned above (except the P10, which is really a different animal in my book, and the 365, which is very nice but I actually WANT a 380 so my wife who has some health issues can actually shoot it and shoot it well).
My rationale for 380 over 9mm has pretty much been covered already. I want something physically smaller than my .22 and my duty size 9mm, with enough oomph for skunk/possum/raccoon, that my wife can operate and shoot well. This really shouldn't be controversial- beyond "the gun you actually have on you is better than the gun you left at home", in my case "the gun you can actually operate is better than the gun you can't."
I had thought about the 380 EZ but this is as much a gun for me as her and the P238 ticks all the right boxes for both of us.
If I were looking for a compact 9 I would be looking at the CZ P01 because of my aforementioned like of metal (and I will buy one at some point, or a PCR). But if I were a plastic guy I'd probably have bought the 365 I had in my hand this morning.

And they are an inch or more longer in length which makes all the difference in poking me when I sit carrying appendix for over 8 hrs. I’ve already said that numerous times. I’ve also said that the wife cannot conceal the smallest 9mm which is the PM9 but none of that matters. I should get a .308 AR with an 18 inch barrel and a foot long scope for concealed carry too so as to completely burn all the powder.
How come you don’t carry a 10mm? You can conceal those as well too.

My wife is a petite size and she shoots the shield better than anything smaller.
And even the shield fits in a brassiere carrier same as it does in my jeans pockets. Not tight jeans obviously.
And the shield is larger than those others like the SIR or PF9 or nano.
I would say the shield is not the ideal and those others are better but if can be done w/o problems.

I definitely wasn’t trying to argue “controversy” so to speak. I’m just surprised at some of the concern for ultra-tinyness. Seems to have been explained well enough though. When there’s very little trolling in a thread, the discussion proceeds just fine.
This isn’t really something to disagree on anyway because it’s personal choice. The only dispute is when delving into whether these choices are truly equal. They’re really not. It’s a tradeoff for conceal-ability, just as much as carrying a handgun over a rifle is in the first place as marine said.

Your wife isn’t my wife and you aren’t me. Enough already. Go play with your foot long 1x6 scopes and your wildcat loads that nobody wants. Those 9’s are considerably heavier to wear on a bra all day. It’s the same reason someone carries a lightweight .38 instead of a magnum.

I mean hell I could have looked at little revolvers and loaded it with 38's for my wife and 357's for me- but she won't be able to work most double action triggers.

Anyway. Back on topic. Seems that I was wrong in thinking that going with the .380 instead of the 9mm, I would lose auto glass penetration capabilities.

That's another example which could be misconstrued auto glass isn't framed in the vehicle in such a way that could affect penetration like a cinder block wall without mortar being struck with different calipers
