Dude open carrying. nobody freaked out!

I was at a convenience store the other day and there was a guy open carrying and to my amazement nobody freaked out. He bought a case of beer, chatted with the cashiers then went along his merry way.

His Glock did not escape it's holster ( Blackhawk Serpa. I figure someone will ask) and harm any patrons.
Who woulda guessed?

I occasionally open carry in PA, mostly when going to and from the range.

If you're open carrying, you're probably NOT a potential criminal. Especially, if you're not doing anything with your holstered sidearm while you go about your business and appropriately pay for your purchases.

Tomorrow will be an open carry day, I have a lot of places to go and will have to see if my revolver jumps out on it's own and shoots somebody.

I have mentioned this many times here, I open carry on a regular basis. Aside from once or twice, nothing. No one even sees the gun.

When I met up with ABguy in Niagara Falls a while back, I never covered my gun. It was polished and shiny. Was not hidden and so one cared. Hell, that was in a Starbucks coffee shop.

I really don't think people really care.

I think most people upon seeing an open-carrier, assume LEO and go on about their business. Exceptions possibly being rabid anti-gun types, or other LEO's with a "this is my turf" chip on their shoulder.

Keep it up. You will be reported, you will be arrested for "menacing", your permit will be revoked, your guns will be confiscated.

Your permit is for "concealed carry", open carry is not mentioned anywhere.

All it will take is one Sara Brady flunkie to throw a fit, call the cops and say you were menacing them.

When you live in a super blue state, it is prudent to always assume the worst and follow the EXACT letter of the law.

Even before I was I would test these waters. All of the time. A couple of people have already mentioned it a bit...

Seems like many people, upon seeing a pistol carried Open, just assume that it is either okay or the gun toter is a co.

Most people have no idea of the laws in NY State, assumptions are made all of the time. It is actually a great social experiment, just act like all is Okay and most go on with their day. I would not recommend doing this in the bigger cities or in an area where the cops are dicks. Most local cops could care less, many don't even notice.

I OC on my property all the time. Both in my rural land and in the urban setting. I did have the old neighbor ask if I was in the FBI. Hahaha, I said no just a Marine that is prepared. He nodded and backed away. Strangely enough he was very polite after that.

What do you mean by that with your statement in regards to this conversation? That the police can open carry or that you can open carry as per the law?
