you can use it .. just need to wrap some black tape on the brass to make it fit better ..

I went through boot with a 7.62…it seemed to work very well if you weren’t a pussy…recoil was nothing unless you were drafted…early issue 16’s were 1in 14 twist out of General Motors hydromatic division …they would tumble almost instantly and fuck fuck the cong

Overheard at the Rochester gun show, two guys where checking out some AR's and one wanted to buy his first AR. The 'expert' told him "nah, get the 7.62 one that way you can shoot .223 and .30 cal without having to buy another one" I believe he meant shooting both from the SAME upper! I just walked away.

That being said, I like my .308s just fine.
I think 6.5 is a great deer choice. I hate excessive recoil lol

308 with a 130gr ttsx is a perfect round for deer and large hardy mountain goat.
120gr ttsx for the 7-08 same thing.
In those cases they can be pushed very fast at 2,200 - 2,300 fps that is key to get maximum efffect and cns disruption / drt.
The 110gr ttsx can be pushed to 3400-3500 fps ... So there you have it 243/6.5 like recoil with more killing power.
