in my opinion, Mr. Norman is going to lose at SCOTUS. Because in Heller the SCOTUS clearly states that the 2A is not absolute. That the states can regulate firearms in their state.

Although it's great that Norman is trying to take one for the team, he's going to lose.

An NRA dream team would have taken it with the assumption that it would end up at SCOTUS. They would have groomed the case for that very purpose. They would have assumed he would be found guilty at the local level, and assumed they would have to appeal it all the way up.

We all know any SAFE case is DOA up through the 2nd circuit.

Yes but there are already cases way ahead of this! The Kolbe case is about magazine capacity.

My reach around is that I like to participate in the shooting sports that the NRA sanctions. I like that the clubs I belong to get cheaper insurance. I like that I get free insurance on my guns for being a member. I like that they spent a butt-load of money getting Trump elected. I like that they have a simple program for teaching little kids gun avoidance and that almost every gun safety program is based on curriculum developed by the NRA. I like that NRA is actively outreaching to women and minorities and introducing them to guns and shooting. I like listening to NRA News. I even like the msgazines.

Fair enough on some points like the shooting sports or insurance that work for you but don't go around asking others to become members as if they actually do something for gun rights for us in NY. Those reasons work for you but not everyone else. I would prefer to spend that money on a real tactical classes if I do choose to.

And no. They did not elect Trump. Most people that voted for him don't even own guns.

They've COMPLETELY fucked up NRA Action Pistol since they bought the Bianchi Cup from John Bianchi in the 1990's. So much so they've killed off more than half the Statewide AP programs because of excessive fees and red tape.

They've done absolutely NOTHING for NYS in my lifetime. You geniuses who drink the NRA Kool-Aid calling the rest of us FUDDS is laughable. Take a good hard look at their whipping boy in NYS , Tom King. He is the quintessential definition of FUDD. Always seen with an over/under shotgun draped over his trap/skeet vest. Yes but there are already cases way ahead of this! The Kolbe case is about magazine capacity.

Kolbe isn't just about magazine capacity. It's also about Maryland's "assault weapons" ban. The two Constitutional issues in Kolbe are (1) define "in common use" as was stated in Heller, and (2) define the appropriate level of scrutiny which much be applied to Second Amendment cases.

Even though these issues are ripe, I don't think SCOTUS has the appetite for 2A issues right now. They made that pretty clear when they passed on Peruta.

And writing and calling and emailing in large volumes at least serves to let your elected officials you are out there, that you pay attention and you vote. I sent Turncoat Toomey an email basically statin the while I voted for him in the last election I do not at all apperciate his anti 2A policies and that I would be watching the PA political scenergy closely should more suitable republican candidates arise. I'd much prefer political progress to tilting at windmills.

I've got three gun cases going now in NY. I'll say this, we are doing them on a shoestring. No help at all from NRA, SCOPE, NYSRPA etc. Now on this case, I predict the Supreme Court will not grant Cert. Next, if they do they won't reverse, because Florida is "shall issue". They will say that having to get the permit does not place too much burden on 2nd Amendment rights. So they won't answer the main question. NY is different. Can't carry open, and can't carry concealed, unless you bribe the right Judge/Cop etc. That case is going nowhere.

I was going to ask you to show me a link but I found it, say NYS has largest membership at 41,000 members. So I'll ask the question again, do you think 41,000 members puts the fear into any anti-gun politician?

One other thing, go back to the old site, look at how many members of that board and many of the are on this one voted for and defended Como, Schumer, Senator Clinton and Obama? There's blood on a lot of people's hands for the Safe Act.
