Never liked bullpups. The standard 16" AR15 has sufficient ballistics and handiness for most uses.
I always liked the look of the AUG and FAMAS

AUG sucks. Or at least the knock off ones did.I always liked the look of the AUG and FAMAS
But an SBR bullpup is even handier. I used to have one. Well not in an SBR. A bullpup SKS . Since the weight was all in the back against the shoulder, it felt like it weighed nothing. The front was so light.Never liked bullpups. The standard 16" AR15 has sufficient ballistics and handiness for most uses.
I'd rather not have my workspace up my armpit thank you.But an SBR bullpup is even handier. I used to have one. Well not in an SBR. A bullpup SKS . Since the weight was all in the back against the shoulder, it felt like it weighed nothing. The front was so light.
Old wife's tale that's never really happened. Just like appendix carry being dangerous.I'd rather not have my workspace up my armpit thank you.

NEIN, Ich will es nicht!!Old wife's tale that's never really happened. Just like appendix carry being dangerous.
Lol. I mean catastrophic failures. You knew what I meant.Wait but it's not. The "workspace" of a bulpup legit is in the "armpit" area
I had an SKS bullpup. Never had such issues of concussions or noise. I only wore orange, foam ear plugs.I like the idea of a bullpup type gun, short and compact, easy to maneuver. One problem, hearing damage. much of the damage to hearing cannot be protected with plugs and muffs, because it is caused by the concussion going up through the jaw bone, and with the face right over the chamber it seems that damage would be exacerbated. Plus you are that much closer to the muzzle. Too late for me, I'm only thinking of the children.

I don't have any problems with my RFB and I even have a flash comp on it.I like the idea of a bullpup type gun, short and compact, easy to maneuver. Yup. It's just 90 degrees in the other direction, pull the bolt and look inside. I agree the mag changes take getting used to though.I can't help you with the armpits though but you can check the chamber just like any rifle. Just pull back the charging handle.
Are you making this up out of thin air? I've actually had one and it was no louder or concussive then before I bullpupped the SKS. Have you ever heard of European, Israeli and Australian troops going deaf? The damage is cumulative. It'll catch up to you, give it time.

And look at what? On the MDR you will be looking at the port cover.I can't help you with the armpits though but you can check the chamber just like any rifle. Just pull back the charging handle.
Sound does conduct readily through the jaw and cheek bones hence conductive headphones. Are you making this up out of thin air? I've actually had one and it was no louder or concussive then before I bullpupped the SKS. Have you ever heard of European, Israeli and Australian troops going deaf?
Lots of myths lately.
Conventional layout > bullpup layout. There is no getting around that diagnosing and clearing malfunctions with any bulpup is in no way as intuitive or fast as with a standard style rifle
This one may be much better than the others out there and actually good enough that it could be negligible but again ergonomics and everything considered bullpups will never be as nice as a standard rifle
Conventional layout > bullpup layout.
Oh, my 'concern' is valid all right.Sound does conduct readily through the jaw and cheek bones hence conductive headphones.
However since the sound and blast is almost entirely directed down the barrel and out the muzzle @Robin's concern I don't think is valid.
However since the muzzle is that much closer to your face that could could be an issue, but certainly not as much as with an SBR.
Based on that article, the concussive force comes from the end of the muzzle hence the muzzle brake.Interesting article but light on solutions. Only solution they mention is a muzzle break which we can’t have with a detachable mag in NY.
