Did you see the most recent video I posted about from sage dynamics on red dots and sights for handguns? If not it's well worth a watch, but best options are the Ameriglo (least expensive but all blacked out) or Trijicon suppressor height sights

I did and I just rewatched it. I guess my terms are not the best. I definitely don’t want to slave the red dot to the front post. Are suppressor sights all about the same height?
I believe so, the only one I ever heard talk about slightly lower suppressor height sights than others would be Gabe Suarez of Suarez International, everyone else just seems to get standard suppressor height sights (mainly Trijicon or Ameriglo)
No, there are various height options. I will get a pic looking through the window, and the make and model of his.

What r the opinions on the sights in regards to the the dots? Example: White front/black rear or go all black when used with a rmr?

Me personally I go with all blacked out, mainly because they are back up and I keep a light on my gun 95% of the time negating any real need for night sights.

I have tried plain Glock rear (the standard bucket rear sight), 3 dot, 1 stick (dot on front and stick on rear where you have to dot the I), and blacked out rear with no dot, stick, or anything.
The blacked out rear has been the fastest for me. Your mind just focuses on the front dot and your body automatically lines up the rear without any thought.
Whenever I had some index point on the rear, I would find myself consciously putting the front on the target, fixing the alignment of the rear index point to the front, then firing.
With the blacked out rear, the only thing that I seem to consciously do is just put the front sight on the target.
I don't know if that makes any sense but basically, with the blacked out rear, I don't consciously do anything with it. It's automatic.

I went with the Trijicon suppressor height irons. I like them and I will admit they ended up pretty close to the dot. I will agree that I didn't want my dot and sights slaved to each other.
I also went with night sights. The reasoning is I plan on using the firearm as my night stand gun in the future. I was worried too many glowing point in my sight picture would be an issue, but it hasn't been. In my opinion why it's not as huge of an issue as you would expect is because how you focus while shooting. When shooting a red dot your focus is on the target. When shooting irons your focus is on the front sight. The different focal plans seem do blur out the sights that aren't in use. This effect is also what is the biggest learning curve of shooting a red dot. We have so much muscle memory of staring at the front sight its hard to get use to not doing that.

So do u wish u have gotten shorter sights?
I'll give it solid maybe but idk if I really could have went shorter. They are pretty far in the bottom of the view port. So I would have had to do some measuring to even try something else.

What distance did u sight your rmr for?
I didnt measure but I would say 10 yards or so. I also have a conversion barrel. I haven't ran it through the paces fully yet but but the first few round appear to have the same POI. I'm not a great pistol shot and the gun out shoots me by far so I'm not a good judge of that. I can say what little I shot it from a rest the red dot was awesome and I could make a ragged hole.

The video Edward posted was very informative. I think I am going to sight my Red dot for 25 yards. I’m not the greatest with a pistol but I am hoping to make some progress once the snow melts.

First issue of the build lol I didn’t make it far the stock g17 safety plunger will not fit.

Well I got my exchange last weekend........same issue. The safety plunger hole is too small again. I have a 3rd slide coming in this Thursday. Communication isn’t so good. I don’t know what they want me to do with the second slide that I have. Thought about calling them about it but zev was suppose to call me back 5 days ago.
Damn that fucking sucks.. especially with such a large name company like zev

Yeah....kinda disappointed. I hope the third time is the charm.
If not I know I would be on the phone with a supervisor explaining that the next and last slide will come complete with everything but a barrel

I even had ship the first one back on my own dime. The tech guy I have been dealing with said I should have got a return thingy for shipping. I probably won’t be buying any of their products after this.
I know people swear by zev. I've never heard anything bad about their slides (not counting this) but I also know others and read that have had a lot of issues with internals

I thought of zev as top tier for slides before this. But I am done with them. It is a new product so maybe it has some growing pains. The tech guy I was dealing with said there were some issues going on and was going to tell him manager about the issues before he went into a meeting cause the tech guy thought the issues needed to be addressed. For all I know, they could have just sent the original slide back to me. The safety plunger does the same thing on my “new” slide. Wish I would have marked the original one before I sent it in. Thinking about picking up a new safety plunger to rule that out. The safety plunger I am using now came for big Tex outdoor in a upper kit. It’s frustrating
Yea I would trust Big Tex, all thier upper kits are from the uppers they strip and resell. So sounds like zev is the issue..
