Our silver maple is all buds
Ok this setup is very cool.
What veggies are you growing in this?
How, what, when - in need more info but I don’t know what questions to ask.
Your bio says “from” Livingston so I’m guessing you moved out of state!?!
I'm planting wheat today.
Also, think I'm gonna name my farm "Ministry Of Plenty".
Scarcity is Abundance. Hunger is Nourishment. Failure is Opportunity.
Wrap them in burlap over night and hope for the best is about all that you can do.Ok 50-60 most days this week and next week I’m scared. My blueberry buds and fruit tree buds are swelling greatly. There was just an article on farmers by me scared to death about buds freezing up and dying. This is bad, very bad. I just planted a few flowers from my dead grandmas house that I really don’t want to die. She loved the plants and it will be a great reminder of her. The buds on them are cracking and some of the leaves have already opened on the one from her and it’s a big beautiful hydrangea that was one of her favorites.
Cherry trees were delivered yesterday.
Ordered a whole flock of chickens today.
Waiting for Nourse to verify my tax exemption so I can order 500 strawberry plants.
Ground is a bit too wet to trench the pathway soil up into raised rows. It's going to rain for the next week, so I just have to get far enough to plant the really early stuff in a couple weeks.
All my indoor grow stuff is still in NY.I set up my seeds light and heat mat today. I’m happy with it. Light is super bright.
I think we’re ok at this point but we have 10 weeks left to worry and we won’t make it that long. And just like that , after a weeks worth of record high warm weather and well above freezing night time temps. We wake up to a hard frost this morning. Hopefully it hasn’t done any damage to tender shoots and buds.
Great idea and thanks for sharing.when a onion is in the net bag on your kitchen counter and starts putting out green shoots
found out you have to open that onion and find the green producers roots
then you can place them in water to get roots ..
save the rest of the Onion when your getting to the Green Shooter .. its still good for cooking
had 3 only one was showing lots of roots .
sorry i forgot get a photo of the glass cup and roots from the main onion ..
its like taking a cutting from a plant and making it root and produce
one little root poking out so far from the 2nd Green shooter ..

Your going to need some help pulling all that stuff when it’s time to harvest.I planted about 750 onions so far. Most are seedlings still under lights, and the rest were sets out in the garden.
Great idea and thanks for sharing.
did this last year and did a hell of number on the Apple crop...the buds don't do well being frozen from a frost. Here comes that false spring again. Temps. Forecasted to be near record highs for the next couple of days. It’s only the first week of march for Christ’s sake. If it keeps this up the next hard frost is going to kill any chance of my fruit trees producing again this year.
I found a missing packet of pepper seeds 3 weeks after I started all my peppers. Oh well. I probably have too many already.I have a bunch of rabbits around and I’m trying to trap them but they won’t go in the traps and I do t k is why. Last year I couldn’t keep them out of the traps. I guess my grow bags will be out to the test. I hate that they eat my ornamental plants though.
Also I can’t find one of my seed packets. I labeled them all with date to plant inside/outside and o es just gone. I can’t find it anywhere and it’s annoying me. Not a big deal and I can buy another packet but I remember writing processing tomato because it’s for canning so I labeled my seeds and garden markers that way.
Apples and pears do much better than stone fruit but this will not be good for either of them. This is way too early. I’m even scared about my blueberry buds.did this last year and did a hell of number on the Apple crop...the buds don't do well being frozen from a frost.
Always get seed soil if you can. Regular soil can have plant pathogens that kill the plants, prevent seeds from germinating or stop them from fruiting/flowering. Also seed soil is lighter and holds water better.Opinion need please
I do container vegs and I’m starting seeds indoors now in egg crates.
I have some leftover flower potting soil or do I need to go get some veg soil?
edit: never mind. Bag of leftover soils, infested with little tiny flying bugs.
