Nonsense. That is actually the same reaction on the other forum that we had when UnSafe passed, a squinting of the eyes and a wracking of the brain to figure out "what is now legal?" And after that, acceptance and compliance.
There is NO righteous or logical basis for law in this country whatsoever, let alone in New Yorkistan. It is fiat law with no basis in the Constitution, no consideration for what is right or wrong, no real common sense. It is fiat law to go along with our fiat money.
Trying to figure out what the law means is pointless, because they're going to cram more and more down our throats until they choke us so to death, or we do it to them.
This is nothing more than extension of the Federal blueprint that was the game plan for a nation-wide ban on semis, mags, and so on after Sandy Hook, the game plan during Sandy Hook under Obama. However, they couldn't get it passed in the US Senate at that time. So, they shifted gears and ran the game at the state level where they were sure they could make it stick, leftist liberal states like NY, CA, CT, etc. UnSafe is almost the exact blueprint that was written as Federal law but they couldn't get passed. I have the file on my hard drive still to this day.
Trump is a speed bump in that game plan for them, and nothing more. Now that the Dems control NY lock stock and barrel, we have no rights here at all. None. See: Red Flags
And its the exact same game plan they're running on Virginia in their upcoming legislative session. Northam and his scum could care less about the repercussions politically for them in Virginia or nationally, because they are following the plan and finishing "the long march through our institutions."
Just like Obamacare, they don't give a shit whether anyone likes it. They get power, and they do everything they can to ruin this country as much as possible. And then they fight like hell to make sure we never, ever roll back any Infringment on any of our Rights.
So everyone can keep picking at the new bullshit laws they come up with and try to figure them out, wasting time, and we'll all be disarmed felons before they are done.

I never once stated that I had a plan that was going to "take effect". I stated that I had a sound legal strategy to attack UnSafe if people got behind it, and that I was going to propose it. I opted not to.
In fact, I have 3 avenues of legal attack against UnSafe; two of them are very sound and would be serious enough to maybe get some attention in the courts, if there was a single court in NY, Federal or State, that would allow it, let alone rule in our favor. One of my legal strategies is far less sound and sketchy, and not something I would likely attempt in a gun-friendly state let alone in this shithole.
However, any one of these three would take money and real backing from supporters of the Second Amendment. The Heller decision cost $6 million for legal fees and filings, and many years of Mr. Heller's life.
I do not have that kind of backing or support, and I'm not dumb enough to seek it where it won't be found, or disclose it to my enemies. I made that mistake in the past on the old forums, and I do try to learn from my mistakes.
We're beyond the courts now anyways, as should be obvious given what is going on in this country on a daily basis.

Forcing NYers to serialize all "major" gun components at a "qualified gunsmith" (read: one that keeps records) is nothing more than a full-on assault against the people of this state (who used to be American citizens) in an attempt to get then to register their arms under threat of felony arrest, trial, and convictions, and an outright attempt to regulate the interstate commerce of manufacturers and dealers in arms to the point that they will no longer sell product in NY. Forcing any "part" to be shipped to an FFL where a "qualified gunsmith" will have to serialize them is a broadside against NY gun owners, and will be a total cluster fark.
Registration is confiscation.
Refusing to allow NYers to engage in lawful commerce, particularly when that touches upon a well defined and very broad guaranteed Constitutional Right is sedition at least, an egregious violation of our rights and the rights of American citizens in other states, and completely illegal.
NYers figured out the Unsafe Act schtick and came up with many ways to build "compliant" arms and otherwise work around the "law" so they could defy King George with a big FUAC, and with hope for relief from the so-called "courts of JustUs."
Well, they've clearly read the gun forums and other sites that talking about building arms that get around UnSafe by making "compliant" weapons and stashing "parts" to be dug up out of the ground if/when the plebes on the leftist plantation get "uppity," and are now upping the anty.
King George heard our lamentably pathetic FU, and has responded with, "Let them eat this cake."
The only silver lining in the UnSafe debacle was the fact that almost no one in NY registered, because they innovated by buying parts to stay off the plantation. If this crap passes, the repercussions are likely beyond anything I can think of at the moment beyond what I've briefly posted here or had time to consider.

If this were to pass it would be incredibly burdensome. I can't see how it could possibly pass muster on that fact alone. Mandating every gun owner retroactively have all their parts and magazines serialized by a gunsmith is completely unreasonable.

I've said it before and I will say it again. All these proposed laws regardless of whether or not they become law, clearly amount to persecution. We are being persecuted and descriminated with all of this. Most of these laws do nothimg but make it harder and harder to be law abiding. They are continually trying to deprive us of not only liberty but property. We as gun owners, have been put into a group and we are being persecuted.

Way more than that if we're talking existing guns. There are probably about 6 million "legal" handguns in NY, maybe as many as 10-12 million, lawfully "permitted" by the NY fascists to the plebes.
If we count pistol frames, slides, barrels, and mags (or cylinders for wheel guns), that's 3 parts each x 6,000,000 just for pistol permit holders (i.e., minus the frames that are already serialized on existing handguns). Rifles/shotguns are multiples of 10s of millions more, given how many parts could "easily" be serialized.
NY cannot decide that only new guns had to have all parts serialized, as there would be a crap ton of guns in this state that would be grandfathered, and the entire purpose of such a law would remain completely undermined. There would be no way to know which parts were on any given weapon before or after the law, unless they tried to rely on sale records. I simply don't see how any weapon existing in NY could be grandfathered and leave a new law require serialization is feasible for the tyrants.
Oddly enough, NY AG bimbo sent cease and desist letters to a lot of out-of-state 80% manufacturers demanding they stop selling to NY, with demands and threats for business records. Make of that what you will.

Maybe I'm missing something but I'm sure there's plenty of NYers who will have little choice but to comply.
If the FFl can't/won't get it or the company won't ship it directly to your door based on your address, your kinda SOL.
Obviously, The folks that can plan ahead and drive out of state to purchase all their non serialized parts have a choice in the matter as well as anyone that has family/friends in other states willing to buy and ship. Otherwise, we're back to SOL.
