Marine Cpl
.577 Tyrannosaur.
In a .223 pistol, the 75 gr Gold Dots do quite well. I don't see the need to go Blackout. They aren't that expensive either. Way less than a dollar a round. I'd go that route for ammo availability.
An ATF agent is never going to see you at the range and if they did I suspect they wouldn't really care what you were doing with your brace. The ATF can go fuck itself anyways. The ATF is flippity floppitying again on the issue and are reconsidering shouldering a brace again. So then if you could shoulder a brace why not a buttstock? Oh yeah that's right. The buttstock creates revenue.
I don't see the need to go Blackout.
That is indeed the only reason I'd consider 300 blk. And I'd only do a pistol suppressed. Its justban impractical niise maker otherwise. A 14.5 is plenty maneuverable as it is.Subs. That's it. If you're never gonna spend for the subsonic stuff ($0.80 to $1.20 per) go 5.56. Relegate the BO to the obscure niche it deserves.
A Shockwave brace is the only way otherwise it is useless just as you say due to the 3 point thing.
They say this on their website and I'm not sure what the legal thing is with the ATF since they flip flop in regards to shouldering but who is going to be checking inches from your shoulder at the range or if you have to shoot a SOB in your home?

Now if you think the AR is vastly superior to the AK (patently absurd) then that's another issue.
I think it looks neat, very different. Plus it would show off that very sexy barrel. I think that barrel alone is $1,000You weren't doing terrible up until this point Mr. Apples to Oranges.
I hate the way that braided CF looks. I'm sure it's light but I just don't think I could do it. VSeven is gtg though. I like the few parts from them that I've been able to save up for.
If they could make an ak variant with a railed fore end, a hinged, railed top cover with a detent pinned closure, rear sights close to the eye, a drop in trigger pack, and a short stroke, svd style gas system, them I would say that the ak would be as good as the ar. With the plus of a folding stock. You weren't doing terrible up until this point Mr. Apples to Oranges.

AK is equivalent to the AR as it is. The IWI ACE is the kalashnikov pattern perfected. I wanna get a 308 version, they have one at my Harrisburg shop for $2k. I'd proly throw an ACOG or Browe on it. In general I like an AR bit better than an AK due it's handier, more ergonomic design. However the AK is just so simple, and so damn easy to clean, it is hard not to like that as well.If they could make an ak variant with a railed fore end, a hinged, railed top cover with a detent pinned closure, rear sights close to the eye, a drop in trigger pack, and a short stroke, svd style gas system, them I would say that the ak would be as good as the ar. Here, this will be my "won the lottery" build

Plus all titanium hardware, and in .204 ruger for extra wierdness. For when I feel like blowing $4k.
AKA "Trust fund baby" build.
That brace looks like a stock to me. No one is actually going to shoot it without shouldering it.Looks/function, and this picture mainly. If your workaround to an AR is to build a rifle with a cheek rest, you're kidding yourself (imo). Just build a damn rifle with a shoulder stock. ^^This just looks goofy as hell. I know it doesn't look much different than a regular AR, but the subtle difference of trying to keep it off your shoulder is a turnoff to me.
The ones w/ out stocks and just buffer tubes on them look ridiculous. No idea how they shoot, I've never shot one. Maybe handling and shooting one would change my opinion, but the whole setup doesn't look appealing to me.
@Cleck, I don't have to put pistols on a permit thoughThat brace looks like a stock to me. No one is actually going to shoot it without shouldering it.
He's in a free state with no pistol registration.Yeah, just looks like a pain to me. He's not actually shouldering it, because he's technically not allowed to.
I dunno, my knowledge on an AR pistol is not that extensive. I could just be talking out of my ass. If I'm building an AR, I'm building a rifle, and I'm not putting it on my permit. If I want a pistol, I'll buy a Glock, Hi-Point, or something...
I like this. It looks HK-ish. Is it a reliable as a normal tube?
No clue. @Bullet Guy suggested it, maybe he would know?I like this. It looks HK-ish. Is it a reliable as a normal tube?
Wus!No clue. @Bullet Guy suggested it, maybe he would know?
To be clear None of the stuff I posted pics of above is being considered for my actual build. I just though it was a cool collection of components for a fantasy range phallus build.
Okay mofo, you wanna help bankroll that puppy eh? Barrel is $1k, receiver set is nearly $800, hand guard is something like $450. I don't know how much the stock and grip are but I'm sure alot! Not to mention that to do it righteously you'd have to top it off with some ultra high end glass mang!Wus!
I thought you meant like an arm brace disclaimer in case anyone was watching.Okay mofo, you wanna help bankroll that puppy eh? Oh. I don't give a damn about that, it's all based on intent which means it's unenforceable. I'm probably not gonna go with the pistol anyway, but I might.......I thought you meant like an arm brace disclaimer in case anyone was watching.
Out of curiosity, just how effective are subsonic 300 blackout rounds? Are there such loads suitable for self defense?
Yes but due to the shape and increased sectional density I wonder how much additional penetration performance there is?They are comparable to .45 Auto energy-wise. I'm not sure how their expansion is.
No bueno. At less than a thousand feet per second, those 200 plus grain bullets won't even penetrate a frying pan. They are comparable to .45 Auto energy-wise. I'm not sure how their expansion is.
