Well I have though about building a couple of uppers in the Creedmoor. After trying it out today I will probably convert at least one 308 upper to it and may do two.I think the 6.5 creedmoor provides another rationalization for building an AR-10 bottom.
I may have to buy it from you.I have had a super nice creed barrell for almost a year. Still have not met an upper..,,,
The savage FCP-SR i picked up was $650.00 and only needed a scope put on it.I almost picked up a creed in a ruger precision a while back.Just couldnt justify the 1200 for the gun and another 1500 for a decent piece of glass. I dont shoot rifle enough anymore to put 3 grand into a rifle to collect dust. Instead I got the 1911 and picked up a Canik TP9SF ,something ill shoot alot more.

I hear you, I have shot a lot more rifle than pistol over the last few years. I really need to alternate between range day for the pistol and range day for the rifle. That is about the only way I am going to be able to do both. Not so much the money as it is the use.I just dont shoot rifle much anymore.Dont have the time to reload or shoot like I once did.
I had to have a Mossberg MVP when they came out and I bet I dont have two boxes down the barrel in the two years its been here. Hell I forget I even have it most of the time
Yeah I felt guilty about getting it from Herb Phillipson's but, even my regular gun dealer said, " when you find something like that for that price you jump on it." So I feel pretty good about the deal I got.BTW...
The 6.5x47 lapua, 6.5creed and 260 remington are all the same ballistically talking.
Same accuracy potential, same reach, same bullets. I suggest a 1:8 twist and a 1:7 twist for single feed solid bullets
for extreme long range.
All can make wonderful AR uppers. Perhaps the easiest one for AR and also military use is the 260 due to the shoulder
being within military standards to assist with easy feeding.
The 10FCP is probably one of the best value rifles one can buy right now.
Very few rifles produce that kind of accuracy out of the box w/o doing anything else.
so good call on that purchase!
What kind of barrel life can one expect out of these calibers?BTW...

Everything I have read says around 3K which is probably more than most people would put through one in their lifetimeWhat kind of barrel life can one expect out of these calibers?
The thing I noticed about the 6.5 is the lack of felt recoil. You don't get the beat up factor when shooting this round compared to the 308Accuracy life about 2,500 but this is a bit arbitrary because it changes specially if you go with milder loads.
If barrel life is important to you the 7mm/08 is an awesome long range round. trajectories are similar to these
6.5mm but with more reach and momentum on the target.
160-175gr are the most effective long range bullets one can get from a 308 size case.
It will not have the life of the 308 but it should not be a lot less. Still a lot more life than the 6.5 and
obviously the 243.
For 7mm/08 long range loads one will have to reload as manufactures normally load it for milder hunting
loads.
You are close enough to New Bremen to join my club.I thought about getting a 6.5 barrel for my accuracy international at. I think I need more range at my range.
