OK, now I'm wondering.... What's the REAL difference between the Savage model 10 FCP-SR and the 10 BA Stealth besides tacti-cool? Do they do something special to the action for the BA? Also I just looked at the Savage website, and the FCP-SR is only shown in .308W, no 6.5C, but the specs for the .308W are remarkably the same.
Yeah when I couldn't find it online in 6.5 I decided I was going to buy it.

My FCP does not have a fluted barrel nor the oversized bolt handle and the stealth that sat next to it didn't either, both were in 6.5 CM. it is funny because the 10FCPSR was not listed in the catalog or on the website as available in 6.5 CM. From what I understand that is nothing new for Savage though. They will make guns, distribute them and then not list them anywhere.

I have not shot that specific model but base on the action and baseline, including the entry hunter models B14 this is a winner formula.
I don't think it is something one cannot achieve with some careful selection but any competitive R700 action with the things the Bergara baseline / B14 offers
is going to run for $1100-$1200 the action alone w/o anything.
The reviews in other forums on these ones are that they do what they advertise that is 1/2MOA guaranteed but many times better.
Of course one can do wonders with a savage 10 action too.
I put things out there. I don't push too hard people to buy and then come back and blame it on me because there are many other
things that are SO important like properly seting up the bases and glass, ergonomic, ammo selection or reload, and take a couple of classes
if one really wants to shoot.
But do some research on it if you want.
Aside I can put a list of my favorite rilfes for the new year for each one of the budget segments and how I would go about them.
I think people overthink this stuff too much. There are rifles out of the box for $700-$800 that will shoot much better than the shooters
themselves. Not to go and win any NAtional championships but to really get your feet wet in the accuracy world. there are so many
other parameters that the rifle is just a fraction of the budget and work/attention into this.

I would not discard a savage like dsd got. They are great value for the money. but these bergaras do you see all the features of the action?
Even the extractor is better that the Sako or Badger ordinance retrofits. Perfect angle just a tad over 90 degree so no brass grabs anywhere.
They are taking the market by storm.

Most likely I won't. I have well over 2000rds of .223 to use when I get the Savage Axis II bolt-action rifle. Local range near me goes out only to 200yrds anyway.
Don't need 600-1000yrd rifle.

I believe the 6.5 cm will be here to stay. A lot of people shoot it for long range shooting just hard to get any distance in ny.
