You are not getting the point. The point is if for whatever reason they come to your house specifically to take your registered guns, what's one more rifle? Why is that rifle taboo to be registered but an AR pistol okay?

I got your point. My point is- the "assault weapon" registry is their pet watch these bad gun list. Pistol permit list not so much. It would take them too much work to make out a bad gun list from that unless they were specifically targeting somebody.

It's all semantics. Those numbers don't mean anything as evidenced today. It didn't change anything one bit. And had people really cared, they would have turned in their pistols to deregister them and gotten black powder revolvers instead.

Rifles bought at an FFL are still free from registration. So why play into their hands? This is all going to come to a head pretty soon with the rest of the states getting pressure now. SCOTUS will soon have to make a case either for or against us.

If something like the safe act were to hit Wyoming for instance, they may look to how a liberal run state like NY reacted to it. If we had all registered, it sends the wrong message. I don't have the optimism you have. The courts are corrupt. They don't want to take 2nd amendment cases that clearly define it. Instead they'll take off shoot cases that don't affect much of anyone.

Because you can have a fully featured rifle without willfully registering it to the state. It won't be "legal" here in NY, but you can do that with zero red tape and permit bullshit. If you want a handgun however, unless you are buying it illegally off the street, you have no choice at this point but to go through the hoops and register it. There is a choice there.

And what pleasure are you getting? Did the laws go away? Because the way I see it, they have the pleasure of knowing that you can't walk around with your fully-featured rifle outside anymore. Instead you have to walk around with one that has a magazine fixed where you can't even reload it properly or quickly should you have the need to reload. Now instead, you have something worse then a pump action or lever rifle.
