I remember at the other place I got told that if I needed more than 10rds to defend myself at home that I was doing things wrongI said for home defense. And I always had an AR mag nearby. With a 10 Rd limit, couplers work. You can also have them in pouches on your butt stock or stash them around the house.
Look what happened at Texas with that home invasion that was covered up. Ten rounds fixed wouldn't cut the mustard.

Well mine would have found a new home out of state anyway. And if I had stayed and died, what would I care? Those that inherited them could maglock them or turn in the lower and resemble on another lower if they wanted to keep them and have the same gun as someone else with a mag lock.Well while you're thinking. The registration process was supposed to get rid of all assault weapons in a generations time by making it illegal to sell, transfer or gift them inside the state. Massive non-compliance with registration has totally eliminated that possibility.
And if the law ever went away, we could have just bought new lowers. But sadly, I don't think it'll ever go away and a Federal Ban will come within the next 20 years anyway. It's mostly all common knowledge at this point in time. It was very easy to predict all of that well before there was even a deadline to register in fact. At the end of the day, there were more advantages to registering than previously thought by many, and going on 5+ years now.
Now you're being optimistic. I can almost guarantee a new awb the next time we have a democrat president and it'll be a lot sooner than 20 years. And if the law ever went away, we could have just bought new lowers. But sadly, I don't think it'll ever go away and a Federal Ban will come within the next 20 years anyway.
I missed this one. No. Why would I want to register a gimped rifle under the guise of a pistol? If the mag didn't need to be fixed then I would say yes.I think the remedy here is maybe just to build and register yourself an AR pistol. No?

I’m in that group, and chose featureless builds to have fully functional rifles. I doubt that I would have registered regardless, as I believe there will eventually be confiscation. Also you seem to be forgetting that some had ar's before 2013 and could register or not, but what about those who wanted an ar after that date? There are only a couple options for them. Featureless or fixed mag or nothing.
This is true. Smart people will have registered an AR before the deadline so that they have a full featured one, and then have unregistered/compliant ones. The gov clearly knows who is and who isn't a gun owner, so the only risk with the aforementioned approach is that you potentially have to ultimately lose the registered AR. But in the meantime you don't have a gimped one, like all the post-safe ones are.Yes you read it correctly. I didn't register and instead modified it to tow the line. That's bad you say eh?
Well what about all the people on this forum registering AR pistols? Or the new Sig or Glock something or other? Are they towing the line? Nope. Why is it okay to register a gimped short barreled rifle with a brace and not a rifle?
I was bamboozled. Had I registered it, I would have a fully featured legal AR for defense until they took it just like the AR pistols and the Smith & Wesson revolvers.
You get my point? I fucked myself. I could have had a working AR and gimped ones that they didn't know about.![]()
You fuckers really will argue about absolutely anything.
That has nothing to do with it. Stop trying to distract. You obviously don't know what your talking about.

In not so secret code this translates to-Or just realize that if you can get it, you don’t have to register it. Take that as you will.
There's a ton of those locked up now and they are the lucky ones some have turned to fertilizer by nowI'm a law abiding citizen.

Ever heard of metal detectors? When they come for your registered AR they will be leaving with all of them.See post above. Having in floorboards is one thing. Using it for home defense is another.
That's not true. I should have gotten rid of my pistols too then by that logic.Ever heard of metal detectors? When they come for your registered AR they will be leaving with all of them.
