Cool, cool, cool. Can't wait to see the pics and hear how it shoots. You made the right choice of caliber too. .38 is cheap and .357 is punchy.

Cool. I didn’t know Marlin had a gate fed 38/357. All I ever heard about was the 30-30. Learned something new today

Went to pick up my rifle today from the CT FFL
2 issues - first, had to convince the FFL that I am allowed to pick up a rifle from CT even though I am NY resident - that was not easy..........but we got there
Second - the retailer sent the wrong rifle !!!
So never picked anything up and need to wait till the wrong one is shipped back and the correct one is received
Crazy!

Further update on the Marlin 1894C ordered on 12/4
As above, wrong gun originally shipped!
The replacement gun, according to UPS has now been “lost in transit”, with last know location in Secaucus, NJ
Not having much luck here with this!
So now waiting on a 3rd attempt to get it to me

Lost a rifle in NJ? LOL, notify the NJ state police and see how fast those assholes can find it

............... think it is safe to say that is now gone for good
Retailer told me that once UPS identifies it as lost, the ATF are automatically notified and begin an investigation
But someone now has a very nice, unregistered Marlin to play with
The Helle knife is quite a knife - workmanship on the steel and in particular the handle is excellent
Even the sheath is great quality - would be a shame to use it for anything
