Completely agree.

The threat of Israel, in its death throes, unleashing nuclear armageddon on hostile muslim theocratic nations is probably the only thing that has kept Israel alive the past 50 years.

That said, 100,000 rockets fired into Israel across their northern border while the IDF is bogged down in a costly urban campaign in the south would stretch Israel's defenses too far. The rocket barrage would quickly overwhelm and deplete the Iron Dome interceptor supplies. So, the northern half of Israel would be destroyed without rapid intervention. That is the existential threat that could provoke a tactical nuclear response. (Of course, I'm almost certainly wrong....which is probably a good thing. )

Well, there is the fact that every time the rest of the middle east tries to gang up and attack Isreal they get their asses kicked.

Isreali nukes are a good doomsday option, but their conventional military is enough to curb stomp any of their neighbors if they needed to.

100k rockets could overwhelm the iron dome, sure. But that would be a terror attack and not have any real military utility.

It would hurt the country of Isreal, but it wouldn't degrade their military abilities significantly. The response would utterly devastate the attacking nation, without using the nukes.
