Going off what @Marine Cpl said about ballistics, this is the website I use to figure out trajectories and set zeros on everything from my .270 to my handguns and it's been a very useful tool and very accurate: Shooterscalculator.com
What you might find most useful for your purpose is the Point Blank Calculator. Knowing (or a close approximate guess of) your muzzle velocity and knowing your target size, the bullet's ballistic coefficient (BC - you can find online for most bullets), and the sight height over bore, it'll give you the optimal ranges to zero the weapon at so that you'll be on target over the greatest distance just by putting the crosshairs on target.
For example, I just today plugged in my new handload for my .44 mag which has its sights 0.875" over the bore using a bullet with a BC of 0.151 leaving the barrel at around 1440 feet/sec and a 3" target representing a deer heart. It calculated that if I zero my revolver at 10 yds (near zero) or 84 yds (far zero), I would hit a 3" target just by holding my sights on the middle of it anywhere between 0 yds (Min Point Blank Range) and 99 yds (Max Point Blank Range).
You can then plug in your data over on the Ballistic Trajectory page to get a pretty damn accurate chart and graph of your ballistic trajectory. You can adjust the max range of the chart and the increments by yards. If you really want to go crazy, you can even plug in atmospheric conditions, wind speed and direction, and shooting angle.
Oh yeah, that’s moderns machining. Referring to the shitty machine works was in regards to actual AK47’s 74’s and their variants. But also most of their parts kits are made from really old rifles. The Galil Ace is like yours is something that’s being made currently now, so definitely has modern technology behind its engineering and manufacturing. Good stuff man.

You definitely don’t want a brace to be freely spinning around like that. I’m still for swapping out to a collapsible option. There’s a few out there for it. There are adapters and stuff. You can attach a standard AR buffer tube or you could even go with something like the new Jmac ST-6. Looks kinda sweet.
That does look nice BUT..... first the Galil hinge is proprietary so their would have to be an Ace specific version and the extension is polymer coated steel so it is an exceptionally strong and rigid setup and it also folds flat. Making this as small a package is important as it has to fit in as small and discrete bag as possible.
I understand your concerns but trust me, when I.........um....... hold my cheek to the brace and occasionally and unintentionally make contact with my shoulder....*ahem*.... It feels acceptable.
Make a trip down to Altoona and I'd be happy to let you see for yourself.
I know KNS makes the adapter for it. I just like collapsible stocks/braces. If you’re comfortable with it...that’s all that matters.
Well, if your concern was having a short enough LOP for plate carriers this brace is definitely short enough for that.
Ultimately all braces are a compromise. I am mulling e-filling for an SBR stamp but I may want to take it to Wisconsin which is a non NFA state so I might not.
It’s cool to be able to say I filed the Form-1and SBR’d a rifle but than traveling is annoying. You have to file a 5320.20 to the exact location where you’ll be traveling to, and you have to do it every year.
I have family In WI, that's where I might like to take it but WI doesn't allow NFA items I believe so I'd need to leave it as a pistol.

From SB Tactical’s website it says you can use an SBA3 on a standard buffer tube and you can get it as small as 6.75” From the rear of the receiver and can be opened out to 9.5”.

Much better to leave as a pistol anyway. The alternative is registration which I’m sure you are against.
I might havd to if the pistol brace rules change, as is being considered.
So probably not everyone's cup of tea but this channel is becoming more and more of one of my favorite channels..
Finally got round to zeroing the Ace today:
Zeroed @ 50 yards offhand with 64gr Gold Dots.
I'll take it. Now I can place it into service. It will become the primary HD gun in addition to being a truck gun. Also the KX5 does a remarkable job in taming 5.56 blast from such a short barrel. I fired it with the stock A2 birdcage on and every shot slapped me in the face with concussion and the fireball was huge. With the KX5 I could discern no concussion at all and the flash was much reduced as well. Those shooting next to me also mention a dramatic reduction as well. I pretty much only zeroed it since I have to work tonight and I didn't have much time on the range, though it didn't seem like tge M193 all that well. I'd like to do some more work with it later. I wish the current ammo situation would allow me to explore it preferences between 55 and 62gr ammo, I'd especially like to see how it would do with my favorite range load, 55gr HP match.

Don’t forget you have 75gr Gold Dot or 77gr Black Hills. Both perform pretty well usually.
I have seen a couple vids now where the shorty Galils do not shoot the heavier stuff at all. Makes sense that a short barrel might not be able to fully stabilize the heavies. I am really happy with the 64gr performance though.
Now I want shoot a traditional AK while wearing a ski mask.
I should also mention it shot smooth! Creamy smooth, no recoil, super flat. This would be an easy gun to shoot full auto. Kinda makes me want the carbine 5.56 version now.
I cannot confirm or deny if there is a balaclava sitting in my Amazon cart after that video.
Or if I have or have not been practicing only Iraqi reloads (who cares how impractical they are) after that video

The only way I'd trip over the cord is if I could phase through solid matter and did so through the wall.
I suppose I could unplug the fan now, what with the cooler weather. Its there to blow cold A/C air downstairs to limit the need to run the downstairs A/C also.

To be honest, to be able to phase through doors and walls yet get tripped by a cord is the kind of ridiculously stupid happenstance that would occur to me.
It would be more likely to happen if the Galil was in 7.62x39 instead of 5.56 ... as x39 has better barrier penetration
