Yep, although at typical handgun range i imagine its neglible.A longer barrel will still be more accurate for longer distances. Won't it?

Yeah, the moot point of round count is what I was referring to the unSafe Act. If it were my decision, I’d definitely choose a 17 over a 21 but that’s me. The one thing I would say is don’t get the MOS version. Optics sit higher than they should with it. I’d get a standard version of it and then send the slide out to be milled.I do see how the 1/2 longer barrel should be more accurate regardless of the sighting system, round count for me is moot unless I move to a free state. I n reality, a 17 shouldnt be that much harder to conceal over the 19. I may look to sell my 21 to snag a 17 mos.

The length of the slide isn’t the dimension of the gun that’s really a big difference in concealing, it’s the grip length. The grip is what will print much more than the slide length. The additional length in the slide will just add additional length downward. As long as you can conceal the slightly larger grip of the 17 without an issue, go 17. It seems like you can because if you own a 21 and are able to conceal that, than a 17 won’t be an issue.Honestly (I don't have the pics any more) the size difference between a 19 and a 17 is negligible IMHO
The manufacturer dimensions put the glock 19 at .43" short than a Glock 17 (G19= 5.04" / G17= 5.47")
So just shy of half an inch. So think to yourself is that .43" going to be so much harder to conceal that its worth going to a gun that fits shittier in the hand?

Oh ok gotcha, I read it quick while giving my little guy a bath. lolThat is the height of the gun not the length of the slide
The barrel is easy, the extra grip length is what shows more, but even that is a small difference.Honestly (I don't have the pics any more) the size difference between a 19 and a 17 is negligible IMHO

Ordering one of these as I have Vortex Venom's on both my M&P 40/9 and M&P 22.
I just saw your other post and was about to deep dive into srt website
I looked into this pretend red dot for my SIRT pistol. The only problem is that I like to use laser-detecting smartphone apps to record hits on targets. This method requires using the pre-fire laser as the "red dot" visualized through the empty plastic housing. That would mess up my app detection. Plus, being able to adjust your window by seeing the "red dot" at a distance is not all that realistic.Ordering one of these as I have Vortex Venom's on both my M&P 40/9 and M&P 22. Only $ 19.99.

I'm going to look into an airsoft quality pistol red dot for my SIRT pistol.

Perhaps something like this cheap RMR clone mounted on a universal rear-sight dovetail plate:
RMR Red Dot Sight with Weaver-Picatinny Mount for Pistol/Rifle/Shotgun | eBay
If there is no screw hole in the middle of the slot of your gun, The mount of this RMR will not fit. Red Dot Sight. Reticle Pattern : 3.25 MOA Dot. Night Reticle Color : Red. Bindon Aiming Concept : No.www.ebay.com
Really good Black Friday sale on red dot milling: Custom Slide Work, Milling and Machining for Glock, Sig, Archon, M&P and CZ Handguns
$80 optic cut and $20 black nitride coating. According to Reddit it does not expire. Very tempting.. I was looking to get the M&P 2.0 Optics Ready model but this might be a better deal.
Yeahhhhh....ummmm...NO! They’re turds. Yes people should become proficient with irons but saying that red dots don’t belong on pistols is literally saying the same for rifles, there’s no technical difference of the usage between the two. If an optic of any sort allows you to put a shot on target better, than it does exactly that...allows you to shoot better. Plain and simple. As long as you have your fundamentals down, I see no downsides to running an optic on a pistol or rifle.
Wow that seems like an odd position to take.. unless they were being super sarcastic. I've seen a few of his videos (though not a subscriber) and that just screams "well I'm not good at them so they suck" to me.. Five years ago they probably weren't reliable enough on carry guns (except for RMRs obv) but now most of the big name ones (Trijicon, Holosun, maybe a couple others) have been tested that people rely on them. Obviously have a plan for if the optics go down but to just dismiss them seems idiotic.
I forget where I first read it, but the quote goes something like - "There's no such thing as a fair gunfight"
I want every available option to help me win and live - that means reliable firearms, hollowpoint ammo, night sights, red dot, maybe lights etc..
I agree, the only thing I would change are lights. Lights definitely belong on a pistol or rifle. I’d dare say that a light should be on them before an optic. You at least have irons to begin with but if it’s dark and you can’t see what you’re looking at and are unable to PID a possible target (or non threat), that optic is 100% useless. Which most people try and use the excuse “That’s why I have night sights”, but that holds no merit. To those people I make the argument that they are willing to align those three little glowing dots in the dark, point their gun into the unknown, and pull the trigger?! I don’t think so.Wow that seems like an odd position to take.. unless they were being super sarcastic. Edit: I should add that I'm still REALLY new to optics on carry pistol - would I recommend it to a new shooter? Well everyone I've shown my 365XL w/ 507k to has loved it, but I think it is still good to have a starting foundation with iron sights.
That said I hate irons on rifles, even on my .22s..
The other argument is people say that they have a handheld light and that’s all they need. Handhelds definitely have their place. A handheld is better than nothing and is a viable option but sometimes when the shit hits the fan you only have time to grab one of them, I can tell you I’m not grabbing my handheld flashlight instead of my gun. Sometimes the need for a gun is reactive and not proactive.I agree, the only thing I would change are lights. Lights definitely belong on a pistol or rifle.
