You won't go wrong with the 92a1. I have one and love it. I did put extra thin wilson combat grips on and dropped in a better trigger. Also a lighter trigger spring to reduce trigger pull. That was however, my second pistol.

Definitely going to put a "D" spring in it. I'm actually looking at grips online now. I'm thinking of some that are slightly thinner, but maybe not as thin as the Extra Thin WC ones.

Probably one of the subconscious reasons I went with the Beretta is because of all the mods I can do to it, lol!

I'm the opposite of most here. Get something that can actually be carried. You can learn on a compact or subcompact. I did.

I wouldn't even consider something as large as a Glock 17.

When I look for a carry gun in the future, it'll probably be an FNSc or something similar, maybe a Glock 43. But for my uses now, heavy and large aren't downsides. I don't plan on carrying this one.

The wait sucks, but at least the ammendment process is in and out. Other places make you wait forever to add a gun.

Yeah, I'm going to put it on the license Wednesday when the permit office is in Cheektowaga, less of a drive and I have the day off. It's nice that at least the amendment is pretty instant. I should be able to get the range to mess around with it that afternoon.

92 is gtg. I would advise you to try to stick out the DA/SA learning curve, once mastered you'll have a very versatile action to work with.
