5 minutes before the attack we tell them it's about to happen and that if they attempt to launch a WMD against any allied force they will be hit with nuclear missiles. That's the only way to do it that I can see..

Trusting the enemy you just attacked will have the good will to not use the nukes that we went to war for in the first place is a recipe for disaster. He will use nukes, and he will target American cities and carriers and bases. . There is no question that he wouldn't .He has absolutely nothing to lose., and everything to gain. He stated it as his policy and there is no reason to doubt it.

If we attack NK it will be with tactical nuclear weapons, by the hundreds or more. We simply do not know where all the weapons are and there is a real possibly of losing a few American cities. Our missile defenses are good,60%- 70% not great, and they're range is limited. If the US is hit with 6 or 7 nukes , it will weaken the US ,for the next 25-30 years. Millions of American dead , ports knocked out. the Pacific would be Chinas for the taking. American military capability's would be reduced across the globe , and it would leave a power vacuum that will be filled by China or Russia.

China can keep a hardline communist government as a buffer, we can get rid of a loose cannon on the world stage and replace him with a more reasonable dictator, and the south can breathe easier after they get to know the new guy. Maybe even get some real trade going.


All without more than a few shots fired, and all of those in N Korea.

Im sure they're working on it as we speak, but that too is going to take some time, and its the best solution possible given the circumstances , but also the least likely to succeed .

I don't ever think war is good, but I think the decision to do nothing and just talk in harshly written memos is significantly worse in this case. NK is a menace. they share all their technology with Iran and any other 2 bit dictatorship or terrorists willing to pay. NK cannot be allowed to be a nucear power

I fully understand that the statements in making are advocating for a military solution and I do not make them lightly. A military option is the ONLY way to make NK stop. Unfortunately the only meaningful trade sanction levied on China would be to completely cut off their exports to the US. Even worse would be the horrific self imposed economic disaster to our own economy from that scenario.

Trump might do it if it gets China to actually remove the NK threat. China might do it especially if they get to keep their buffer. It's high stakes negotiation with high stakes stakes. As crippling as it could be for the market place, the alternative is millions dead and possible regional nuclear warfare at minimum. Lets face it, there is no nice flowery road out of this situation. It's going to hurt one way or another.

I don't think the US is trying to finalize any plans before doing something. SK & US have had many years to plan and they are fully fleshed out. At this point it's simply the decision as to whether to do it.

I also don't believe NK can touch the US yet. It may have an ICBM it can put a nuke on (maybe), but putting the nuke on and then also having a reentry vehicle complete is doubtful. If they can't now they will have it very soon, though.

I think we need to admit that China is never going to reign in NK. Unless they are willing to shut down the border and endorse a naval blockade cutting off 100% of international trade & assistance to NK, NK is never going to feel enough pain to stop this program, and China won't agree to that, so they are a dead-end.

Iran, Pakistan, China, and others have helped North Korea with their nuclear weapons program. The world should have no doubt that if the United States is attacked with a nuclear weapon from North Korea our response will not be limited to North Korea.

Trade is the way to manipulate China, even if it hurts our market initially and people have to pay more....oh well!! Perhaps it will force manufactuing back into our economy. Explain to China in plain language that they are directly responsible for this situation. If they want war with us then they shall have a belly full.

I kind of hope I'm wrong about NK and they are stupid enough to do what I am sure they aren't: launch a missile toward Guam. They could even launch one over SK just for grins, or one over Japan (except make it tokyo). At that point the fireworks begin.

This is a country working aggressively toward nukes, testing them, and threatening to annihilate multiple countries. I can't believe we let this spoiled child get to this stage.
