What safety features? What modifications made it more "lethal"? I think the FFL wants to provide expert testimony during the trial. He probably knows a lot about social media's role in spreading the disinformation that the shooter copied into his manifesto, too.

Don’t like the implication of how this could affect gun ownership so deny it happened; it has to be a false flag. The timing is “too perfect” or “too much of a coincidence”. How about in the middle…he was a shitty, mentally ill human who was reading crazy shit on the interwebs and actually took it all to heart, altering his belief system. The armed guard with police experience just demonstrates that open carry is tactically inferior to concealed.
If he had been concealed carrying and not readily identifiable as a guard then things might have been different.
I also don't think anyone is suggesting this didn't happen. But it is a fact that our 3 letter agencies have a history of manufacturing this sort of event just to step in and claim credit for stopping it.
I don't think the notion that maybe one got away from them is outlandish. Wouldn't be the first time that happened either.
